I propose merging Mortgage repossession into Foreclosure. The UK legal structure is already covered in the foreclosure article and the mortgage repossession seems to be a colloquial and as the article says incorrect term for a house repossession. The article has no references and does not follow WP:MOS so needs work but all the key points are already covered in the foreclosure article and so this can just be turned into a redirect. - The information on which this merger proposal was based is incorrect.
- The current page is incoherent.
- Foreclosure and repossession are different. You don't get "granted" an "equity of redemption". And so on.
- This is the case even in the USA. It still has a foreclosure process, as far as I know. It still exists in England, but if you start foreclosure proceedings they will just be stayed indefinitely and you will not be able to push them any further.
- Repossession is totally different in process. A mortgagee in possession can sell the title but they do not hold it. 193.164.231.98 (talk) 12:50, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
