I thought it'd be a nice change. You know, put in the cropped version of King George VI.

Cropped version.

That sounds like good idea to use a cropped version. It has a more prominent view of the subject and can match the lead images of other monarchs in his time. G0dzillaboy02 (talk) 19:25, 10 October 2024 (UTC)

Royal Air Force?

I am not sure of the claim Prince Albert served in the RAF in the First World War. I had understood that the RAF was formed after the war by combining the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service. Presumably the young Prince would have served in the RNAS, but I don't know. As the RNAS was part of the Navy, I'd suggest deleting the reference to the RAF. 219.89.20.244 (talk) 21:34, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

It's explained and cited in the article body. DrKay (talk) 06:40, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
The RAF was formed on 1 April 1918 when WWI was still in progress, RNAS and RFC personnel then serving on that date automatically transferred into the merged new force.Cloptonson (talk) 08:36, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

smoking habit

His lung cancer was brought on bt cigarettes, was n't it? he smoked many a day, I believe, and this should be mentioned and might even act as a deterrent. In my mother's case it wasnot cancer, but tarred -up arteries that kept her dying for 30 months, thanks to Craven A cigarettes.
