Better wording needed

"Giraffes live in herds of related females and their offspring or bachelor herds of unrelated adult males but are gregarious and may gather in large aggregations" is rather infelicitous as gregarious and aggregation are versions of the same Latin word. Could we say "groups"? 90.240.117.141 (talk) 17:19, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

Just noting that this has been done (aggregations to groups). pillowcrow 22:13, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

Anatomical photos

@LittleJerry: These photos of sex characteristics were removed because they were in the wrong section of the article. Should the photos appear in this section instead? Jarble (talk) 00:52, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

We already have photos there. I don't think we need the photos you want to add. LittleJerry (talk) 01:40, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
@LittleJerry: This article does not have any photos or illustrations of giraffes' sex differences or sex characteristics.
These photos would be relevant to this section, but should the article not include them because readers might find them distasteful? Jarble (talk) 04:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
There not as relevant as images of mating or a mother-calf bond. We have enough photos and they all perfectly illustrate the text. All species of mammal have genital differences and they don't all need be shown in every article. I think I've explained enough so let's not beat a dead horse. LittleJerry (talk) 14:14, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

The qualifier terrestrial is not needed

In the opening of the article, the phrase "tallest terrestrial animal" is used to describe the giraffe. The word "terrestrial" can be left out as the giraffe is taller than any other living animal. Mothewnovarro (talk) 21:52, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

I thought FA articles aren't a part of this. Snakes29 Please choose a different article. LittleJerry (talk) 00:58, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
Ian (Wiki Ed) haven't we been over this? LittleJerry (talk) 01:03, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
@LittleJerry Yes, an automated email goes to the student. I'll nudge a little more. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:34, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
