Will do! Jordano53 04:58, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

Lead

  • Link to NC State, and for consistency, expand to say NC State Wolfpack
  • Clarify up top that they are NCAA Division I programs, and be sure to say that Coastal is in the Sun Fun Belt, especially since you mention Sun Belt Player of the Year

Early years

  • Specify "Indian Trail, N.C., United States"
  • Link to Little League, Cooperstown
  • Add a cite for the Porter Ridge HS fact
  • Italicize The Charlotte Observer (where "The" is part of the name)
  • Is Southwestern 4A a division of the NCHSAA? If so, may be worth specifying/clarifying earlier
  • "he, along with running back Jaylen Coleman,"
  • "2,889th-ranked" (Can we include state and position rankings as well? This doesn't really show why D1 programs were interested)

College career

  • Can we add some prose to the college statistics? Especially the fact that he is the 8th-all time career passing leader in the NCAA— not the biggest fan of a table-only section
  • change "became the quarterback for the Chanticleers' last scoring drive" to "went in at quarterback for the Chanticleers' last scoring drive" or similar phrasing. "became the quarterback" kind of implies permanence
  • "first game start" to "first start"
  • "with passing three touchdowns" to "with three passing touchdowns"
  • "2 rushing touchdowns for a 38–23 win" to "two rushing touchdowns for a 38–23 win"
  • "last place projected" to "last place-projected"
  • "first-ever appearance on the AP and Coaches Poll peaking at number 12" to "first-ever appearance on the AP and Coaches Poll, peaking at number 12"
  • "first-ever Co-Sun Belt conference championship" to "first-ever Co-Sun Belt Conference championship"
  • specify they lost to Liberty in the Cure Bowl
  • "After the conclusion of the 2020 season" to "After the 2020 season"
  • link to Sun Belt Conference further up— it is before you link it
  • Break up his award recognitions to say which awards he won and the nominations/teams made into separate sentences
  • "Following the loss, the Chanticleers dropped from No. 14 to being unranked nationally after a close 35–28 win over Troy." to "Following the loss, the Chanticleers dropped from No. 14 to unranked nationally after a close 35–28 win over Troy." Also specify in which poll
  • "announcing it at a Sun Belt Conference media day with a shirt that read "I PISS TEAL"" to "announcing his decision at a Sun Belt Conference media day with a shirt that read "I PISS TEAL""
    • "Did you know... ...that Grayson McCall pisses teal?" would be a fire April Fools DYK
  • "but was suffered an upper-body injury in the 29–53 loss" to "but suffered an upper-body injury in the 29–53 loss"
  • "despite previous head coach Jamey Chadwell leaving to coach" to "despite previous head coach Chadwell leaving to coach"
  • "The concussion required him to be carted off the field and sent to the hospital, where he was released the following day after the game" to "The concussion required him to be carted off the field and sent to the hospital, where he was released the following day"
  • How long was he out with the second head injury?
  • "as well as another head injury he suffered the prior season with Coastal Carolina as the reason" to "as well as the head injury he suffered the prior season with Coastal Carolina as the reason"

Coaching career

  • rephrase "After McCall announced his retirement in October 2024, where he stated he was interested in coaching football," to "After McCall announced his retirement in October 2024, he stated he was interested in a coaching career." or similar statement. I think the sentence reads better split up

Personal life

  • What is there is good, but is there more here? This is a pretty light personal life section. This source talks about some life aspirations, which could be good. Parents? Faith? I suspect we can add more.

References

  • Reference 14 doesn't really show that the game was "the biggest win in program history." Please add a source that says this (I'm sure there is one, because it's pretty much correct)
  • Reference 24 does not mention the drop in rankings. Please add a source for this.
  • Reference 45 does not mention a concussion. Please add a source for that.
  • Can we get a reference for him beating out the two freshman quarterbacks at NC State? If it was a battle, there's probably some coverage.
  • Add reference 54 down to Coaching career section as well, as it mentions he was interested in coaching. It doesn't seem 55 does.

Lots of small things, but overall the bones are good here. Happy editing! Jordano53 23:19, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
