Talk:Wandering officer

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Non-encyclopaedic at ALL

I have been the police for almost 12 years, in two (east coast) states, and I was also in a Security Force unit in the Marine Corps. I have never heard the term "Gypsy Cop". Maybe it's a west coast thing because the author mentioned "POST" which is popular on the west coast. Irregardless, I tried to legitimize this article with references. Unfortunately, the only things that googled linked it to, were "Copblock", activistpost, Urban Dictionary, etc... nothing respectable, reliable, or legitimate. Unless anyone objects, I am going to nominate this article in AfD. It's me...Sallicio! 22:52, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

The BBC used the term in 2003, before this article was created — and, ooh, The Oklahoman] was using it as far back as 1983. DS (talk) 14:10, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
  • I don't dispute that someone, somewhere uses the term. I question how encyclopedic the term is. Niteshift36 (talk) 20:52, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
