Consistency in including pre-modern polities in infoboxes
Several country infoboxes include pre-modern polities that did not share the modern state name or ethnic identity, when those polities either originated within the modern territory or ruled from a capital located there. Examples include the Roman Empire in Italy’s infobox and the Medes in Iran’s infobox, despite the Medes neither identifying as Persian nor calling their polity “Iran". Morocco’s infobox also includes pre-colonial dynasties despite later imperial and colonial periods. Iraq’s infobox applies a narrower standard by limiting entries to the modern sovereign state, which excludes comparable cases. This omits Mesopotamian states that originated in the territory and the Abbasid Caliphate, whose imperial capital was Baghdad, even though similar criteria are used elsewhere.Thegiantofgiants (talk) 01:54, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
"significant minorities"
In the lead "Most Iraqis are Muslim, while significant minorities include Christians, Mandaeans, Yazidism, Yarsanism, and Jews"
There are 3 Jews in Iraq.

See History of the Jews in Iraq
Not a very significant minority. ~2026-17387-19 (talk) 05:42, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Foreign support in rebuilding
At the end of the introduction, it was mentioned (I’ve removed it) that Iraq is rebuilding “with foreign support”. I would like to know what kind of “foreign support” (in the sense of aid) is Iraq receiving exactly to rebuild? All I’m aware of are business projects undertaken by foreign companies, not exactly “aid” in the sense meant by the previous wording in the article. Even UNAMI’s work ended last year. The President's Name Representation
it should be written as "nizar amêdî" ئامێدی , not amidi which would become ئامِدِ , for a better representation, Heroko z (talk) 13:31, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
