Chief Justice of Mass. Superior Court

@Solo4701: There are two things wrong with this entry in the infobox. They also apply to the entry above it about the "Marine Committee".

First, it does not cite a source. The reader has no easy way to even validate that it is correct, let alone to assess its significance. (What is the Massachusetts Superior Court of Judicature?)

Second, the infobox, like the rest of the lead paragraphs only moreso, is supposed to be a summary of stuff that's in the article. If an item isn't important enough to put in the main body of the article, it certainly doesn't make the cut for the infobox. This, by the way, is why we don't usually need to have footnotes in the infobox; everything that's there is also in the main body of the article, and cites sources as needed right there. Oh, I see. I will ensure that I conform to these standards (I was unaware of them due to the virtually ubiquitous inconsistencies, particularly in notable political articles, instances of which you mentioned). Apologies to @Display name 99—you were correct to revert. I will integrate any reliable information into the article prior to altering the infobox. Solo4701 (talk) 15:19, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
No worries Solo4701. Thank you for making the addition to the article. I made a minor change mainly just to reduce the length a little and take out something that I didn't think the sources directly said, but I have no further objections at this point. Whatever was I thinking? The item about Adams being appointed chief judge of the Superior Court was indeed in the main body of the article (and has been there since time immemorial). Somehow I missed it. My turn to apologize. Bruce leverett (talk) 01:02, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
His position as chief justice of the Superior Court was mentioned, but not the position that was recently added. This has been rectified now and I see no further issues. Display name 99 (talk) 02:03, 22 July 2025 (UTC)

Brief additions in Religious section

Some short but important details need to be added to Religious views, with WP:RS references, as below. Many scholars find John Adams's faith difficult to understand because he held complex views, and took a middle course between Deism and Calvinism that led him toward Unitarianism. - Religion in the Oval Office: The Religious Lives of American Presidents, Oxford University Press Some scholars describe Adams as Christian Deist. - The Faiths of the Founding Fathers, Oxford University Press. I am adding these. Please discuss here if needed. Thanks. RogerYg (talk) 07:54, 17 February 2026 (UTC)

@Randy Kryn: Are you aware that the first to links to Lee Resolution are in consecutive sentences? Not long run-on sentences, either. It's hard to believe that both links are necessary. Perhaps the sentences themselves could be rewritten to avoid duplication? Bruce leverett (talk) 03:44, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out Bruce leverett. Of the two links I'd keep the second for its contextual importance, and maybe the two sentences can be combined or at least follow each other without the intervening Jefferson sentence. Randy Kryn (talk) 10:34, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
