What does "Checked" mean?

At the top right of the article there is a grey padlock preceded by a tick and the word "Checked". The padlock links to an article about the pending protection policy. Presumably the word "Checked" relates to this but nothing actually says so.

If an article claims to be checked, there should be a very clear statement of what this actually means.

This comment would probably be better situated on Wikipedia talk:Protection policy but I'm not allowed to edit it.

"the first without external pressure"

"His resignation was the first by a pope since Gregory XII in 1415, and the first without external pressure since Celestine V in 1294."

I guess you are conveniently overlooking Vatileaks, the break-in and theft of documents from Benedict's quarters, anonymous death threats, and his attempts to expose money laundering?

What a joke.

I came to this page to read about Benedict's role in the financial scandals during his tenure. To find nothing. This should be addressed. 64.38.114.13 (talk) 16:38, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

"Issue of homosexuality"

"Cardinal Ratzinger made several efforts to tackle the issue of homosexuality within the Catholic Church and the wider world."

This should probably be rewritten to be more neutral/less homophobic Crafty 504 (talk) 12:02, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

Footnote 218

Friends, there is a serious error in the text next to footnote 218. Benedict XVI has not fully recovered from the stroke he suffered. In the book "The Last Testament", interview with Peter Seewald he said that "HE SLOWLY RECOVERED HALF OF HIS LEFT VISION".I ask somedoby to read these pages of the book. 177.71.72.202 (talk) 02:31, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
