Q1: Why is this article calling it a killing instead of a death/murder/execution?
A1:
- Any time one person causes the death of another – whether intentionally or not, whether criminally or not – that's a homicide. It's a very broad category. Every murder or manslaughter (of any "degree") is a homicide, but not every homicide is a murder or manslaughter.
- A homicide only becomes officially a murder or manslaughter after someone is convicted in court. As a person has not been convicted for murder in a court of law, the article uses the term "killing", in line with the community guidance at WP:KILLINGOF.
