Travis Tanner
can someone please clear up if Tanner is working for the same law firm when he moves to NYC. Or if he joined a new firm in NYC. Thanks 199.246.39.222 (talk) 22:32, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Pages for Mike, Harvey and Rachel
Any objections to making separate articles for them. I will also post this on the Suits talk page.
- Agree entirely. They're bulking-up far too big on the Suits page. Valetude (talk) 15:58, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
Makes sense to me, too. Also, is it just me, or does anyone else feel that Mike's innocence and vulnerability are what made him—and consequently, the whole show—interesting? And that as it progressed, and he became tougher, more jaded, and generally more like all the other lawyers, his character became flat, and the whole show devolved into a soapy merry-go-round of manufactured conflicts? That's certainly the impression I've gotten, watching it over the last few weeks. (To be fair, its creators couldn't have imagined all the episodes would eventually be available at once. Spaced out week-to-week, the change must not have been so obvious. Still, I don't envy them, having to keep such a thing chugging along, season after season, after it'd lost most of its meaning.) Once "Mike" has his own page, do you think it'd be appropriate to add a note about this transition and its effect on the show's quality? It could be of interest to aspiring TV writers—i.e., if you have a central character who's not a self-serving jerk like all the rest, don't turn him into one too, y'know? Just saying. – AndyFielding (talk) 23:32, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- (Oh, and we _are_ supposed to start these replies with indent-me colons—even though this mobile version of the editor presents a "Reply" box separate from the rest of the content? How would we know that? – AndyFielding (talk) 23:34, 13 January 2022 (UTC) )
Split
I've added a split template suggesting this article be split into the following:
Of course there are other characters that could warrant having their content split into distinct articles, but I feel these are the main three that will reduce the size of this article and allow for more depth on seperate articles. I'm aware this was suggested a while back, but I just wanted ensure consensus still exists 3 years later. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 11:49, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- I do not support a split for these characters based on the current state of the list. These characters have long sections because they are bloated with trivial, unsourced plot details (see WP:NOTPLOT) – this is unfortunately a common problem with "List of X characters" pages. There should be more sourced, real-world information about the characters (e.g., casting, development during production, reception) before a split should be considered. Otherwise, the correct way to reduce the page's size is to remove trivial details. RunningTiger123 (talk) 21:30, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
- I confess I did not read the current sections in their entirety before proposing a split. Instead it was my intention to expand distinct articles with sections for casting, character development, critical reception etc.
- Perhaps I should do that here, and then see if it's still worth splitting? I would hazard a guess that a split would still be in order as there is much that could be added in the form of the sections mentioned. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 05:45, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- In general, it's easier to support a split when the notability is already shown. If you split this in its current state, someone could easily undo the split and say the character's not notable before you have a chance to add sources proving otherwise. RunningTiger123 (talk) 02:22, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- I was just looking for Harvey Specter's Wikipedia page in Turkish, and I noticed that there isn't even an English page for him. Many TV series characters have their own Wikipedia articles, and I genuinely think that these characters are notable enough to merit their own articles. Bay Klinton (talk) 19:53, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
