MS Strait FeroniaStrait Feronia – I suspect prefixes like "MV", "MS" "DEV" etc are used to name Wikipedia articles about ships because "that's the way we do it". But I'm not seeing them in common usage for (for example) the Cook Strait ferries, and where you do find them being used on the web, it is often a circular Wikipedia reference. I have confirmed with Maritime New Zealand that the Strait Feronia, Aratere, Kaiarahi and Kaitaki are not registered with a prefix. I know this is primary research but it gives context. If this move is successful I will request similar moves for those articles. Move request is prompted by this discussion. Quilt Phase (talk) 08:31, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Also see WP:PREFIXSHIP. Prefixes are optional and should follow common usage. Quilt Phase (talk) 07:22, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
Support - per argument above Llammakey (talk) 15:16, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
Support - per WP:PREFIXSHIP. A quick and dirty Google search supports the "unadorned" Strait Feronia, without MS or MV, as predominant. - Davidships (talk) 22:10, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
