Musk again
I was surprised to see Musk not mentioned, given the number of post-war cases, including Adolf the dog. I was more surprised to see a comment saying not to add his salute, peer this talk page. Imagine the level my surprise reached when all I found here was a no-consensus RFC.
I think we need to remove the comment, ideally it might be worth workshopping a short paragraph describing the event and responses in a nutshell. Maybe we do need a comment discouraging dilation beyond the basics, as in depth coverage should be somewhere else. Note that we already describe the origin of the salute in this article, which also covers the genesis of the at best apocryphal Roman salute. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 12:56, 14 March 2025 (UTC).
- Agreed. There are now enough sources to demonstrate lasting notability. Those in the Elon Musk salute controversy article itself, and the following more recent ones which show that the incident remains notable. It's certainly notable in comparison to the North American Schools section, which is really excessive.

- Also agree. Massive WP:UNDUE issues to mention some school kids but not the richest man in the planet who's a known backer of neo-Nazi causes. The circumstances of the RfC closure also indicate that the determination of consensus isn't so strong that it can't be reasonably challenged at this point. Sceptre (talk) 10:49, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- I agree as well. It is egregious that such an omission has taken place. There is no other contemporary stiff arm salute from a prominent public figure that even comes to mind. The subjectivity of the intention behind the salute should not deter from its inclusion as an objectively identical sieg heil arm action…x 2 Barrylopezjnr (talk) 04:05, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

Translation of "Heil"
The German word "Heil" does NOT translate to the English word "hail" and does not mean the same as "hail," although that is a common misunderstanding. The word "heil" means "salvation" or "savior," just like the word "heilig" means "holy" and "heiliger" means "saint." Thus, Hitler is our salvation (Heil Hitler), or Victory is our salvation (Sieg heil). 71.26.61.201 (talk) 19:07, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
