When did building begin?
This article is a bit confusing:
- ...built from 1912 to become the new capital of British India, eventually replacing Calcutta on February 10, 1911.
When did the building begin? Did the British establish the city after already making it the capital of British India? I think there must be a typo here -- maybe 1912 should be 1902? -- Tlotoxl 11:32, 21 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- Fixed. - Patrick 12:11, 21 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Disambiguation
As I said on Talk:Delhi, could someone sort out the precise differences between Delhi (the city, not the union territory) and New Delhi and make them clear in the entries? -- till we *) 12:18, Aug 21, 2003 (UTC)
- I think New Delhi does deserve an article. with more importance on the natinal administrative functions and the delhi page can be with a perspective on the city by and large. 203.94.241.97 10:21, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Agreed. There should be a relatively brief article on New Delhi that talks about its construction by the British and perhaps about the administrative Division between New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). All historical details should be put in the main [[Delhi] article. Anurag Garg 10:53, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Air quality index template
The air quality index template here is completely incorrect, as there's already a page about it on the article Air pollution in Delhi. Specifically, the months of November and December are hazardous (401-500), the month of January is severe (301-400), the months of October and February are poor (201-300), the months of March, April, May, and June are moderate (101-200), and the months of July, August, and September are satisfactory (51-100). 2603:8001:B202:3294:60C5:30E:5869:FB69 (talk) 04:59, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
Why Kartavya Path still named Rajpath ?
Why use old official name not use new official name ? 2406:7400:51:B3B7:CDA3:A2A8:EA51:68DD (talk) 19:33, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Because Wikipedia uses WP:COMMONNAME not the WP:OFFICIALNAME. Since Rajpath is still the commonname/article name in English Wikipedia, we are using that name here. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:14, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
Centre the map
Hey, can someone centre the map shown in main infobox? Currently the southern part of india ia cut off and india isn't centred correctly. KhubsuratInsaan (talk) 04:35, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- The map isn't centered around India, it's centered around New Delhi, the subject of the article. — Benison (Beni · talk) 15:03, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, but shouldn't it be centred around India, since New Delhi derives its importance due to the fact that it is the capital of india? KhubsuratInsaan (talk) 15:40, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- No. It's a map focused on New Delhi, not on the country that New Delhi derives its importance from. Largoplazo (talk) 16:26, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- Aah. I see. I will increase the zoom I guess. KhubsuratInsaan (talk) 02:32, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

On the line "In 2007, the Japanese Buddhist organisation Nipponzan Myohoji decided to build a Peace Pagoda in the city containing Buddha relics. It was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama." I found a source that can help with the citation (https://tibet.net/his-holiness-unveils-vishwa-shanti-stupa-in-delhi/). Please add this for me Dreadedghost77 (talk) 19:30, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
