Hello editors, my name is Derek and I am an editor with a conflict of interest. I'll be requesting some proposed edits to the page and was wondering if anybody was interested in taking a look at my first request.

The Opera Air subsection is all sourced from the Opera website. I would like to suggest replacing the primary sites with reliable, independent news articles and updating the subsection's text to reflect the new sources. See below for my proposed replacement:

Hello again editors! This is Derek - an editor with a conflict of interest. I have a new request for additions to this page.

The Opera_(web_browser)#Features section is missing details on individual features, including many that are not mentioned there. I would like to suggest adding subsections for each feature, all sourced from reliable, independent news articles. I have a list of 19 features I’d like to add, but wanted to start with these two, in case there’s any feedback. Here are the first two:

Note: 19 features is a lot! I think the best way to go about this is to consolidate them all into a few paragraphs. For example, in your "Ad Blocker" section, the last two sentences are too detailed/promotional and not needed; I think the first one is enough. Same thing with the VPN. Hello again editors! I have a conflict of interest and would like to request assistance updating leadership information in this article to reflect Opera's leadership change announced on 10 October 2025.

Currently the article states that Zhou Yahui is both chairman and CEO of Opera. However, Opera announced that Lin Song became the company's sole CEO on 10 October 2025, while Zhou Yahui stepped down as CEO and continues as Executive Chairman.

Requested change

I would like to update the sentence:

“Mr. Zhou, our chairman of the board and chief executive officer…”

to reflect that:

“Zhou Yahui is Executive Chairman of Opera, while Lin Song serves as CEO.”

Requested additions

Easy Files, introduced in the 2020 Opera update, displays a carousel of recently downloaded files and clipboard items when a user goes to upload or share a file.^[1]

The Split Screen feature allows users to view two tabs side by side within the same window by dragging a tab into the current working window.^[2]

Workspaces lets users organize tabs into separate groups, which can be swapped by clicking individual workspace icons in the sidebar or using a keyboard shortcut. This feature was introduced in 2020.^[3]

Opera Sync enables link and content sharing between Opera desktop and mobile browsers.^[4][5]

Battery Saver mode reduces energy use by adjusting page redraws, background tabs, and video playback.^[6]

Flow is a file-sharing feature that allows users to send text, images, links, and other media between desktop and mobile versions of Opera.^[7][8]

The Opera browser’s appearance can be customized with Opera Themes, including light and dark modes, animated and wallpaper-style themes, and optional sounds and music.^[9]
