first paragraph in Etymology section mentions 10th century as the earliest reference to the city.

It would be good to have map(s) showing the expansion of the city boundries through history, and especially during the last 150 years.Most probably there isn't something like that on Wikimedia, and so it will have to be created by editor(s) experienced in generating maps. ​An IP editor recently tried to alter the text of the lead to show that the area was 527 km² (203 sq mi) instead of 516.18 km² (199.30 sq mi), but he/she made errors when altering the citation template. I think that we ought to modify the body of the article to explain how the area of Pune has changed over time. Any explanation also needs to state the definition used (for example whether they mean Pune Municipal Corporation, or something else).
