Can't we put a warning about missing sources instead of removing the entries? @Chariotrider555 Tusharhero (talk) 02:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

User:Tusharhero, No, it will forever remain like that otherwise. It is the WP:BURDEN of whoever adds something to the list to make sure it has its own page or academic sources beyond a trivial mention to prove notability. Chariotrider555 (talk) 02:20, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

If written, what script was it when Valmiki wrote?

I am wondering that the script is definitely NOT Devanagiri. It may be in Brahmi or after Indus Scrip? Sarma Pisapati (talk) 19:35, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

Wiki Education assignment: Introduction to Digital Media

— Assignment last updated by Pr23668 (talk) 04:14, 10 May 2024 (UTC) Mahabharata is one of the two great Sanskrit epics of ancient India (the other is the Ramayana).

It was composed mainly by Vyasa, around 1500–500 BCE (compiled over time).

It tells the story of a dynastic conflict between two groups of cousins: the Pandavas and the Kauravas.

The central event is the Kurukshetra War, a massive battle about dharma (duty, righteousness).

It contains the Bhagavad Gita, a philosophical dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna.

Themes include duty, morality, fate, justice, and human struggle.

It is one of the longest epics in the world, with over 100,000 verses.

In short, the Mahabharata is not just a war story, but a deep exploration of life, ethics, and human values.

Astronomical dating

@Pranav kantak: your dating of 12209 BCE diff seems to be Nilesh Oak's theory, from a self-published book link. Not WP:RS but WP:FRINGE, and quite WP:UNDUE, as far as I can see. Joshua Jonathan - Let's talk! 17:05, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
