Boycott Scream 7

Hi all. I am trying to understand why people do not feel that the cultural history of the film is relevant to its Wikipedia page. If you are a student writing a paper about the film or a journalist covering the film, for instance, a major boycott of the film seems to be obviously relevant to its cultural history. Is there another format or way of addressing this cultural history that you think might be more appropriate on the page itself? So far the concerns that people have had are:

1.) This is covered in "Development" (No it is not. This history occurred after the development of the film) 2.) This is not about the movie (Yes it is. Cultural history of a movie is part of the discourse about a movie and is relevant to its Wikipedia page. There are many examples of this).

If there are other critiques of why this information is not relevant, please share them with me here or explain why I am wrong about the two points above. I am not understanding the points that are being made and I want to better understand so that we can achieve a more thorough page.

Another concern that was just given: The boycott "hasn't happened yet." This is factually inaccurate. There is an active boycott campaign of the film, again, from the largest Palestinian rights organization in the world. The campaign itself is both newsworthy and relevant to the cultural history of the film. Whether or not the boycott succeeds will be determined by box office numbers after the release of the film, but the campaign is part of the film's history right now. Please respond to these concerns. I am not seeing a logic to this. Whatalark (talk) 15:46, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Dewey?

Am I missing something cause Dewey died in scream 5 Miranda lass 92 (talk) 23:00, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

It's a long story, and Arquette has previously repeatedly made it clear that he could still return to the franchise in one form or another, just as his cast colleagues, Cambpell and Cox, also advocated for this. After all, this is not the first precedent for the franchise when dead characters appeared posthumously. As an example, in the previous two films we had literally de-aged Skeet Ulrich, who returned to the role of Billy Loomis in the form of hallucinations. So there are many options, ranging from flashbacks to retcon. Skerpsov (talk) 15:37, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Hello, please add Victor Turpin as part of cast.

Source is the movie's imdb pro page https://pro.imdb.com/mobile/title/tt27047903?from_app=ios&ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Thank you!

Not done for now. The order is currently based off the one shown in screammovie.com. Please try seeking consensus on this talk page first. NotJamestack (talk) 01:08, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Poster

While the current uploaded poster does have the billing block, it is not the theatical release version. It is a collector's poster for the opening night fan event (see here, scroll to bottom). This version is the final poster per reliable source. Even the official website uses that version, along with theaters. Should we use the current version only because it has a billing block, or use the theatrical release version that is widely used? Mike Allen 23:43, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

Cast grammar

So someone added descriptions for Mckenna Grace, Celeste O'Connor, and Sam Rechner's characters. The problem is that the spelling is super weird for Mckenna Grace and Celeste O'Connor's characters. Example with Mckenna Grace's character:

"Mckenna Grace as one of Tatum's bestfriend"

It should be "Mckenna Grace as one of Tatum's best friends" NarutoSan6000 (talk) 22:22, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

Also, "neighbour" should be changed to neighbor as this is an American film. NarutoSan6000 (talk) 22:30, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

Thank you Mike! NarutoSan6000 (talk) 01:05, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

Spelling

Once again someone has added information to the cast. However "bestfriend" should have a space in between the two words. NarutoSan6000 (talk) 06:38, 22 February 2026 (UTC)

Once again it’s been removed because of no sources included. Mike Allen 12:42, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
Ok. NarutoSan6000 (talk) 17:37, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
Another user has put the names of the cast, however Mckenna Grace's character, Hannah's surname is spelled incorrectly it should be "Thurman" not "turman" NarutoSan6000 (talk) 23:30, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

Leaked Script...

Some people leaked the script of the movie on Twitter, and because of this boycotters and haters of the movie have been spreading it. Should we mention it? NarutoSan6000 (talk) 00:57, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

To answer your question, you'd need a reliable source to report on it, but it would also need to be appropriate for the article & given the right weight to keep things neutral and balanced. As an extreme example, you shouldn't write three paragraphs about it if the article is only four paragraphs long & a couple of newspapers mentioned it briefly when talking about other stuff. Blue Sonnet (talk) 00:47, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Ok... Here's the leaked script that got leaked. (POSSIBLE SPOILERS:)

So you'd need a reliable source to report on the leak and people's reactions to it first, read through the reliable sources page linked above and see if you can find one or two.
If you're not sure if it's reliable, search the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard to see if we've discussed it before - if not, ask what people think on the RSN board! Blue Sonnet (talk) 00:58, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
