    • ALT1: ... that a university student was accidentally crushed in a trash compactor in a newly built library (pictured)? Source: "A 19-year-old freshman at the University of the South was crushed to death by a trash compactor early yesterday after he slid down what he thought was a laundry chute inside the...new library... 'he tripped a sensor that activated the compactor'..." (The Tennessean)

    • Comment: ALT1 is definitely macabre. This death 25 years ago is by far the most unusual fact about this subject matter, which is why I am including it as a possibility. I know some DYK participants do not like to discuss deaths on DYK, so I will understand if ALT0 is preferred.

    QPQ: Done.

Overall: Moved to mainspace March 27, nominated March 31. Long enough at 2400+ characters. All of the statements are sourced and neutral in tone. Earwig's good (4.8%). ALT0 is interesting, and cited in the article. The image is freely licensed, used in the infobox, and clear at 100px. QPQ done. While ALT1 is interesting (to me, at least), I fear that it would see disapproval by some. I'll err on the side of caution and approve only ALT0. Jude Halley talk/contribs 00:55, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
