In the text below the picture showing 'A typical Thanksgiving dinner in the United States', where the countries observing Thanksgiving Day are listed in detail, change 'Austria' to 'Australia'. ~2025-35818-09 (talk) 10:15, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

Under "Fixing a date" subheading "Canada" the following line is incorrect: "The first official Canadian Thanksgiving occurred on April 15, 1872, when the nation was celebrating the Prince of Wales' recovery from a serious illness.[31]" - erroneous citation (citation does not match details in sentence) and the date is incorrect. It is complicated, the first official Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1859; the first official post-confederation (so when Canada was its own country and not just a colony) was April 5 1872 (and this was we are officially giving thanks for the prince of whales (King Edward VII) getting better). But that's not the typical Thanksgiving celebrated at the end of a season that was more like a day of national giving thanks for our health It was officially established as the second Monday in October in 1957. So I am suggesting change to "Canadians have also long celebrated Thanksgiving in the fall and as they established themselves as a country officially set a day; their first official Thanksgiving occured throughout the nation in 1859; post-confederation they celebrated an official thanksgiving on April 5 1872 in celebration of the Prince of Whales recovering from an illness. It became an annual event celebrated on Nov 6 beginning in 1879, following years were set by parliament until 1957 when it became officially established as the second Monday in October" Rmcnamee99 (talk) 16:26, 27 November 2025 (UTC)

Thanksgiving history:
A story was mentioned already in the Holy Quran, chapter of the Table (or chapter 5), verses 112 to 115: 112- So when the Hebrews asked:” hey Jesus Son of Mary, could your Lord (God) be sending us down, from heaven, a feast table? Jesus Exclaimed saying: “ don’t you fear God (Allah)? You suppose to be true believers? 113- they said: “ we only wish to eat something from heaven, reassuring our hearts, so we’ll make sure you’re truly real. We’ll promise to bear witnesses of it. 114- Then Jesus Prayed God and said: “ Elohim, our Lord, would you please, send down to us, from heaven, a feast table, that will become a thanksgiving celebration for all of us, and the upcoming generations, as a heavenly sign from you. Please fill us with your provisions, for you are the best of Providers. 115- Allah answered: “ I am, indeed descending it down to you. Though whoever denies among you, will be severely punished, like no one else in the world. Alexlegrand31 (talk) 07:17, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Mystic massacre
Why no references to the mystic massacre? It should be noted that this was the context for the first thanksgiving celebrations, the people know that and to not mention it not only is failing the memory of the victims but it also really looks bad for the integrity of the wikipedia project ~2025-37144-38 (talk) 08:26, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- The Mystic massacre that took place in the spring of 1637 was not the context for autumn Thanksgiving observances that began in the early 1620s. Largoplazo (talk) 14:07, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- but it did happen in those same communities ~2025-37144-38 (talk) 16:42, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- Even if that were true, that would be going off on a tangent. But it isn't true. The Patuxet and Wampanoag in Plymouth and Pequots in Mystic were different communities in different places. Largoplazo (talk) 17:37, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Elinks in article body
The last paragraph in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving#Debate_over_first_celebrations has two external links which I think are intended as references - please fix? ~2025-37939-08 (talk) 16:07, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
