How do you go about looking for a better source?

I ask because it says the following line on the main article needs a better source: "Another topic of transhumanist research is how to protect humanity against existential risks, such as nuclear war or asteroid collision."

Why is this source not adequate: Kirsch, Adam (June 20, 2020). "Looking Forward to the End of Humanity". Wall Street Journal. And how should a user look for a better one? FireInMe (talk) 21:14, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

@FireInMe Kirsch’s Wall Street Journal piece is a newspaper essay with one critic’s framing of transhumanism, not a scholarly overview. It is fine for showing “Kirsch argues that…” or illustrating media reactions, but weak as a main source for definitions, history, or consensus views in a Wikipedia article. For stronger citations, users should look for academic and reference sources instead, such as encyclopedia entries (Britannica, Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy), peer-reviewed journals, or scholarly books and handbooks on transhumanism. ~2025-33892-31 (talk) 22:01, 15 November 2025 (UTC)

Why was the "Humanity Plus" logo changed? SWeinblatt (talk) 00:47, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

I'd agree that this would be a pretty standard image to put on top of the intro section. Should I add it back in? MutuallyAssuredDeduction (talk) 17:49, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

Fix pls

In the "Growth of transhumanism" section, the blockquotes do not have the reference at the end like seems to be customary here. Can't copy the reference in there, though. Pls help. MutuallyAssuredDeduction (talk) 17:47, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

Are you talking about this part of the article? If so, I agree! I can't find any good sources that corroborate with the story of the 1980 (film? performance?) "Breaking Away" with Natasha Vita-More. There are two stories- the one in this wikipedia article, which I cannot seem to find any source for, and two unreliable sources saying that it was premiered at University of Colorado Boulder, at the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater- Medium article interview and Transhumanism fandom wiki, both of which are cited as unreliable sources as per Wikipedia's guide.
The final (and possibly reputable?) source I could find mentioning "Breaking Away" was this article. The Art History Archive seems to be a fairly thorough digital archive, but couldn't find any corroborations or wiki guidelines mention.
Just in case, I did shoot an email to EZTV's curator in hopes they might have footage or a lead, but since the medium article (which did, in fact, seem legit) told the Colorado story, I'm not sure if it'll lead anywhere. The missing media is definitely driving me a little up the wall so I may just email Natasha Vita-More herself... ~2025-35073-89 (talk) 10:35, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
Accidentally replied using a temp account, I wanted to add that the Medium article was written by Tim Ventura, who has some credibility in the subject with his identifying as a futurist, and his interview may have been legit- making the Colorado version more accurate but still in need of a good source for citation in the article. Interesting, thank you. MutuallyAssuredDeduction (talk) 22:17, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

"Propagandistic Use" section

The entire "propagandistic use" section continually sources the same one article by Markus Linden every paragraph and the entire section is written in a very "rant-y" tone. EW20 (talk) 12:48, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

Anthroposophy section?

I invite April8 to discuss their preference to add a section on Anthroposophical critiques of transhumanism here rather than on my user talk page. The content in question, which I reverted as WP:UNDUE, is here.

Other users wishing to see the background should refer to this this discussion. Generalrelative (talk) 23:22, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
