(possibly) promotional paragraph

the third paragraph of this article, the part talking about wikipedia, sounds a little promotional to me. it mentions some extra content about wikipedia that is either not necessary, or conveyed in a way to make wikipedia sound special in some way. but i'm a student, and i don't know everything about grammar, tone, and stuff like that so idk, tell me what you guys think and if we should change it

Offline wikis

Apologies if I'm belaboring a point that's already been hashed out here - I didn't find anything in the archives.

Wiki is currently phrased such that there are no 'offline' Wikis.

"a form of hypertext publication on the internet which is collaboratively edited and managed by its audience directly through a web browser."

But the article itself discusses offline wikis, personal wikis, private wikis, etc. Tule-hog (talk) 19:32, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite Protection?

Why is this page protected indefinitely? I realize there was persistent vandalism, but it was over the course of like a week, and likely did not warrant a permanent protection. Axolitl (talk) 15:44, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

I have looked at it. From what I can tell, it discourages permanent protection. Is there a reason this article is permanently detected? I know there was vandalism, but would it still be persistent 7 months later? Axolitl (talk) 16:06, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
