Will start on this later tonight. Jordano53 20:13, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

Bit later than originally promised. Earwig is content, so here are my thoughts:

Lead

  • Clarify that he played NCAA Division I basketball in the first paragraph, when listing teams? Especially for those who know nothing, helps to specify.
  • I recommend adding notability/highlights in the first paragraph of lead— it's a bit short as it is. Either that or roll the two into one summarizing his collegiate playing career.

Early life

  • Capitalize "All-Metro" per Clarion-Ledger style and clarify what the award means. Metro of what?
  • Consider using the quote template, I feel it looks better. Also, the "stick with basketball" part confuses me. Did he play another sport? If so, it is worthy of inclusion.
  • Confirm "all-state" is lowercase? I feel most of the time I see it uppercase, although the LA Tech article uses lowercase
  • Clarify "12 best high school players in Mississippi"
  • Capitalize All-Stars when talking about the classic, per cited article's formatting
  • Provide a little background on Quinndary Weatherspoon (i.e. professional player? NBA player? However he may be considered notable)
  • Link to college recruiting again in this section

Louisiana Tech

  • Make sure the "just 12 minutes" part is truly out of the ordinary, or else it may fall under WP:PUFFERY
  • Confirming that he also led the Middle Tennessee game with the four steals?
  • Who described the alley-oop as thundrous?

Mississippi State

  • "64–59 victory over Tennessee"
  • Spell out Southeastern Conference at first instance of SEC
  • Who said "a couple of highlight-reel dunks"
  • Specify left knee injured in season opener for absolute clarity
  • National Invitation Tournament is previously mentioned in LA Tech section, so free to change to NIT at this instance
  • "After earning his degree in May" — do we know what major?

Florida Atlantic

  • How exactly did he know May?
  • I think "senior night" should be lowercased
  • First Owl to win any individual award? If not, specify conference

Player profile

  • Maybe a lead-in to the quote from Peters? I just hate ending a paragraph with a long quote before immediately beginning another one, albeit with a template. Maybe something about how he received compliments on his tenacity from teammates? Also make sure to end the Peters quote with a period
  • Briefly explain what a stretch four is for people who may not know
  • Where does the "matchup problem" quote come from? Clarify
  • Can you finish the sentence for the templated Sammon quote? My AP Style sensibilities say not to end a quote with an ellipsis

Legal issues

  • Clarify that he was arrested for driving with a suspended license in 2015— a little confusing without that there.
  • Any background on the 2018 arrest? How did he disturb the peace?
  • Do we have an update on his situation following the 2025 arrest? Is he still in prison? Was he released?

References

As stated up top, Earwig is happy and no obvious copyvio. Six random spotchecks:

  • Ref 12: Does not say that White and Stapleton were high school teammates, rather they were both part of the Dandy Dozen. Indeed, White played in Grenada. Other than that, the facts match up
  • Ref 21: Confirms what's going on, although weird on NBC Sports for publishing a column with a website forum where we don't see the author, nor does it specify anywhere that it's a column.
  • Ref 37: No issues
  • Ref 45: No issues
  • Ref 49: No issues, should you feel inclined I would say to consider referencing individual reporting for games rather than a database source, but it will suffice in this instance
  • Ref 59: Paywalled, will take your word for it as they are both direct quotes

All in all, the bones are good. I have just listed a small mountain of smaller fixes, but I think this should be good to go for GA once these are addressed. Happy editing! Jordano53 22:25, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
