Contested deletion
G4 inapplicable — this is not a substantial repost of the 2017 versions. This rewrite adds multiple high-quality, independent secondary sources (several published after the 2017 AfDs) and substantial new prose that directly addresses the prior WP:BIO1E/WP:GNG concerns. Post-2017 critical recognition of the work (not the death): Pitchfork names "Killa" an essential Chicago drill track and discusses Young Pappy’s style/impact (2019): 11 Songs That Define Chicago Drill. Chicago Reader lists 2 Cups: Part 2 of Everything among the "Best Chicago albums of the 2010s" (2020): Best Chicago albums of the 2010s. Non-event analysis placing the subject in broader music/policy context: NPR feature on social-media-fueled violence discussing his videos/taunts and offline effects (2015): When Social Media Fuels Gang Violence. Reporting on CPD's predictive-policing Strategic Subject List naming him in policy coverage (2016): CBS 2 explainer: Going Inside the CPD "Strategic Subject List". New York Times: Armed With Data, Chicago Police Try to Predict Who May Shoot or Be Shot.
Reliable, independent reporting for biography facts (for verification, not notability): Chicago Tribune: Rapper killed a week after posting video… (2015). Chicago Sun-Times: Killed at third attempt in Uptown (2016). CBS Chicago: Rapper ‘Young Pappy’ fatally shot in Uptown (2015). DNAinfo longform (archived): The Violent Life and Death of Young Pappy (2015).
These sources were not part of the deleted versions and are now cited across new sections on musical style/artistry, media/policy analysis, and legacy. Under WP:GNG, the subject has significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources that is not limited to a single event; the old one-event rationale is no longer applicable.
If there are remaining concerns, please convert to WP:AFD rather than applying WP:G4. Thank you. Pinging BerryPulpy TheArchitectOfYe (talk) 23:32, 19 October 2025 (UTC) Talk:Young Pappy/GA1

Hey @Jaysav1987, lets avoid edit warring, do you have any reliable sources to support the information you're editing to the article? --pro-anti-air ––>(talk)<–– 23:26, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, interviews, documentaries about this rappers life is all legit, I’ve even seen legal documents of everything but I will not put it on this page Jaysav1987 (talk) 23:28, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- Then you have no sources, the WP:BURDEN is on you to verify the information that is added. --pro-anti-air ––>(talk)<–– 23:44, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Jaysav1987 You need to provide the sources, so editors know they actually exist. --pro-anti-air ––>(talk)<–– 03:22, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
