User:Arch dude/interactive Nolli map

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nolli map is a historical map of Rome that shows the locations of more than 100 ancient ruins. Most or all of these ruins have their own Wikipedia pages. There are several off-wiki projects that have interactive versions of the map. I propose systematize our information about these sites with the ultimate goal of creating an interactive version of the map within Wikipedia.

Initial Tasks

  • Create List of Nolli map items. (start at User:Arch dude/List of Nolli map items)
  • create template {{Nolli number}}
  • create category Category:Nolli map items
  • create a wikidata name for Nolli map number
  • populate the list
  • for each item in the list:
    • add {{Nolli number}} to each article
    • add Nolli Map number to the wikidata item for the article subject

Interactive map tasks

  • decide on the required functionality
  • research the available in-Wikipedia or in-Commons tools to use for this.
  • experiment with each set of tools
