This objective of this Sources page is to suggest Canadian citations for articles within the scope of WikiProject Canadian music. Specifically, this page will help with this project's known articles[n 1] as contained within Canadian music articles. This page is provided to encourage best practices in citing articles and to provide real examples. This page uses the "common usage" from WP:CITET. Other templates may refer to the template style as a "Vertical list", "All parameters, vertical format", "Full citation parameters", et cetera.

Most listings are from Canadian sources. One exception is the Newspapers section. Most, if not all, of the major Canadian daily broadsheet newspapers will charge for access to their "archive" postings in their papers. The New York Times has the longest time to archive policy as at 3 January 2012.

All table headings are sortable.

Guidelines

Articles should have references from reliable sources added to verify information in the biography of a musician/band, Album, Song, Music magazine, Music Venue, Record label, etc.
The format of the citation should follow the guidance provided by Wikipedia:Citing sources. The date format for these citation examples are dmy. Per WP:CITATION "Citation style" section all date formats must be consistent (ie. one for the article, and one for the citations is acceptable). The Canadian Manual of Style MOS:CA is absent on this topic. For further information see Wikipedia:STYLE#Dates_and_time, Wikipedia:Citing sources#Citation_style, and WP:DATESNO.

StarPhoenix starphoenix.com SK Postmedia Network Publication history: first published as The Saskatoon Phenix on 17 October 1902 (following a short-lived attempt at a local newspaper, the Saskatoon Sentinel). In 1909, it became a daily paper and, in 1910, was renamed the Saskatoon Capital. The paper was sold and bought several times between its inception and the 1920s. By 1927, there were two daily papers in Saskatoon: the Saskatoon Daily Star and the Daily Phoenix.
