Hello! I am a PhD Student in History, studying the effects of Western Orientalism on the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th Century and the subsequent creation of the Turkish Nation-State. For my theoretical basis, I am heavily influenced by the work of Edward Said. I have joined Wikipedia to occasionally edit articles on Turkish or Ottoman matters (if I have the time!!) Half-Dutch, Half-Turkish, 100% MELON.
