Involved Closure

This essay was created to encourage involved editors to find and implement consensus where appropriate. When discussions, especially RfC's have an obvious, uncontroversial outcome it's encouraged for the participating editors to wrap up the discussion and implement the consensus.

Some factors that lend RfC's to involved closure:

  1. Page under discussion is not controversial
  2. The outcome is obvious
  3. There is no objection to an involved closure

Factors indicating an RfC should be closed by an uninvolved editor at WP:CR:

  1. The arguments involve application of Wikipedia policy
  2. The discussion has been heated
