Involved Closure
This essay is in development. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints—especially since this page is still under construction. |
This essay was created to encourage involved editors to find and implement consensus where appropriate. When discussions, especially RfC's have an obvious, uncontroversial outcome it's encouraged for the participating editors to wrap up the discussion and implement the consensus.
Some factors that lend RfC's to involved closure:
- Page under discussion is not controversial
- The outcome is obvious
- There is no objection to an involved closure
Factors indicating an RfC should be closed by an uninvolved editor at WP:CR:
- The arguments involve application of Wikipedia policy
- The discussion has been heated
