Alvin Purple - series | details
In the TV series he lives with a flatmate named Rod (Chris Haywood). As in the films various women inexplicably lusted-after Alvin. The women were played by a stream of recognisable Australian actors in guest-starring roles including Tina Bursill, Jackie Weaver, Belinda Giblin, June Rich, Jane Harders, Pamela Gibbons, Kirrily Nolan, Peta Peita, Judy Lynne, Anya Selecki (stage name Anya Saleky), Suzanne Church, Carla Hoogeveen, Chantal Contouri. Dawn Lake and Leonard Teale also acted in the series. There were 11 episodes in the TV series: Like Son, Like Father; Hospitality; The Postman; Purple Stork; The Hustled; Have A Go, Rod; Rhythm Method; Footy Widow; O Death, Where is Thy Sting; London Derriere and Ciao Alvin. Other notable actors to appear in the TV series included Sid Heylen (A Country Practice), Judi Farr (Kingswood Country), Noel Brophy, Kris McQuade, Briony Behets, Frankie Davidson, Noeline Brown, Judy Morris, Lex Marinos and Peta Toppano. ---
