Requests for page protection

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Several TAs reverting each other and accusing each other of vandalism. AntiDionysius (talk) 13:12, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

The recent activity appears to stem from recurring undiscussed changes by a temporary/IP editor since early March, including alterations to the template and content that do not reflect the previously stable, agreed version of the article. Reverts being made are aimed at restoring that prior stable version rather than engaging in a content dispute between established editors.
Given the pattern of repeated disruption over time, semi-protection may be appropriate to prevent further temporary account-based changes and maintain article stability. ~2026-17224-03 (talk) 13:58, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

Reason: The main reason for this request is that users without accounts just come, add the scores and leave which can be a headache for later on. I would like to request semi-protection so only autoconfirmed users can edit the page and so it does not become annoying to edit later because these users have only edited a small part of the page. Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

2026 Iran war

In the infobox, change:

to

    • 90 naval vessels sunk or damaged, see list[3]

The explanatory note only includes the sinking of IRIS Dena, which was near the totality of naval losses a week ago but the claimed losses have now substantially expanded. This would also bring the treatment of naval losses much more in line with aviation losses.

An alternate (in my opinion uglier) option would be:

Autopatrolled

User:Umais Bin Sajjad

I have created over 150 mainspace articles (primarily in the area of Film and TV). While some of my earlier creations were deleted, the majority of my recent articles remain live, and I have refined my sourcing and notability assessment standards over time. I am familiar with WP:N, WP:BLP, WP:V and WP:RS and I ensure that all new articles meet notability and sourcing standards prior to creation. As I continue to create new articles...I believe autopatrolled would help reduce workload for NPP, as my pages generally require minimal follow-up. Umais Bin Sajjad (talk) 12:03, 22 February 2026 (UTC)

Not done, unaddressed UPE concerns across older articles like PromptCloud, Jim Jewels or Zigma8. -- Sohom (talk) 03:28, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
That was nearly a decade ago. I acknowledged the issue at the time and faced the consequences, including a multi-year ban after disclosing those edits. Since then, I’ve made a conscious effort to contribute in good faith, including working on and improving notable articles in line with Wikipedia’s guidelines. I’m therefore disappointed that this past issue continues to be treated as a permanent mark against my credibility, despite the constructive contributions I’ve made since returning. Very disappointed with this review. Umais Bin Sajjad (talk) 15:16, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
Replied on talk page. Sohom (talk) 15:58, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

User:TinaLees-Jones

User has created over 900 live articles, mainly all relating to Asian people and places. None of the articles I've randomly spot checked have any major issues that would prevent them from passing muster in NPP. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 01:15, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

@Toadspike You might be more of a domain-knowledge expert on Chinese topics and be better positioned to evaluate this request (I don't see any obvious problems tbh). Sohom (talk) 03:21, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
@Sohom Datta Last time they requested this right I found worrying source-text integrity issues . I'd have to take another look to see if that has improved. I have no concerns about the notability of their creations. Toadspike [Talk] 07:00, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

User:AjayDas

I mainly create articles related to Assam. Currently, I have around 100 live articles on Wikipedia. Auto-patrol rights would be helpful if you consider. Please let me know if there's any way to improve my contribution if it's rejected. AjayDas (talk) 06:38, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) @AjayDas It looks like you're using AI for creating content. Jogesh Deuri, which is tagged with the AI-generated banner, has either failed verification or mild close paraphrasing. Sentences like

Beyond administration, Deuri has contributed as a researcher, public speaker and advocate for sustainable sericulture. His work emphasises integrating traditional knowledge with scientific approaches to improve productivity and strengthen rural economies.

are the type of AI source extrapolation/synthesis we try to avoid.
Your recent articles Tapan Kumar Saikia and Nuruddin Ahmed (artist) don't really demonstrate notability as much as they doe WP:BLP1E (winning the award) with their current sourcing, and Times of India isn't a reliable source. It's also not promising that you're adding redlinked categories. Please stop using AI to edit Wikipedia. HurricaneZetaC 17:54, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Not done per above. Sohom (talk) 21:52, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Moondragon21

Editor has created almost 10,000 articles in mainspace (I was wondering why xtools was taking so long to load), 99.6% of which are live. I've spot checked a dozen or so of their recent articles and all seems to be in order. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:53, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

Not that this automatically disqualifies Moondragon21 from being granted the permission again, but it should be noted that this permission was revoked a few years ago per the consensus in this discussion. (Non-administrator comment) TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 01:26, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Not done If this was just about articles, I would have granted the right, but and do not inspire the confidence that I need to grant the right. Sohom (talk) 02:00, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Mdewman6

Editor has created over 450 live articles, mostly list indexes of ships. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 10:25, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Set index articles are similar to disambiguation pages from an NPP perspective — neither require the type of detailed checks that typically go into "content articles" — and the autopatrolled criteria discount disambiguation pages from its 25-article guideline. The "content articles" Mdewman6 has created (such as Disappearance of Gerry Largay) look well-written and without any obvious issues, but there are large periods of time in between most of them. I'll leave it for an administrator to decide whether that constitutes a satisfactory track record and enough of a workload on NPP for granting the permission. (Non-administrator comment) TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 21:06, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Thanks, I'd forgotten about that aspect of the criteria but will remember in future. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 22:39, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Not done, per above. I agree with TS69 I don't see nearly enough engagement with actual article creation and given that set-index are very easy to review, don't see the urgency of giving AP. Sohom (talk) 03:16, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Nubelbariloe

I mainly create articles related to Places and Biographies. Currently, I have around 90 live articles on Wikipedia.  Not done I don’t think that you know what you are applying for. Either way, looking at your last two articles that you created (two BLPs), it’s clear that you don’t qualify for AP anyway. Schwede66 15:54, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Requesting a trial run only unless you think I clearly meet the criteria. I want to see if this is something I enjoy, especially because there is such a large backlog on it. I often vote on AfDs which has a good track record, although my nominations often haven't done so well. I also occasionally assess articles. FantasticWikiUser(Ts and Cs) 15:39, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Track record looks good. Your AfD match rate is a bit low, but that's mitigated by the fact that virtually all of the mismatches were articles you went out on a limb to nominate for deletion yourself, and your recent track record is significantly stronger.  Done signed, Rosguill talk 15:38, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Boynamedsue

I made an article the other day and saw it hadn't yet been reviewed. When I looked into the review process to find out why, I realised that there was a big backlog and I could probably help out. So here I am.

I've been a user for a long time and have contributed to AfD (though somewhat sporadically) and written quite a few new articles of decent quality. I contribute a lot at the reliable source noticeboard and have a very strong grasp of sourcing and WP:GNG.

My one weakness that I am aware of is that I've never created a draft, so I would probably need help with that. There will likely be some other technical questions I'm not yet aware of, but I pick stuff up quickly. Boynamedsue (talk) 06:29, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Track record looks good, lack of experience in Draft space shouldn't be much of an issue, but feel free to follow up with questions  Done signed, Rosguill talk 15:39, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Phlogiston Enthusiast

Hello. I'm Phlogiston Enthusiast. I have ~1350 edits total, and many more than 500 main space edits. I have created many pages, and am familiar with the policy on page creation, as well as translated a page into English, so I would be familiar with this too. I'm looking for something new to try, and I'd like to try this. I have at least 90 Days of experience as well. I have experience patrolling recent changes and pending changes. I usually edit using TOR browser, in case that effects anything. The last request I made too early because I was incorrect about the amount of time my account had existed. Requesting trial run because I want to try something different from Anti-Vandalism. I am currently active at AfD. I am willing to patrol new pages in a responsible manner. I have a good memory of Wikipedia guidelines too.

I've made a few sloppy articles and drafts, but I now understand the wrong turns I took. ~~PolishHamsteryeah 00:08, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions and your interest in this permission. However, I'm noting that both of your recent AfC draft submissions, Draft:Kim Healy (politician) and Draft:Empire Clash (Roblox game), have been declined, and you appear to have also made an incorrect call in nominating Volker Schebesta for deletion. Thus, I don't think you're quite ready for NPP yet.  Not done for now. signed, Rosguill talk 19:47, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I am interested in NPR rights, due to the massive backlog, and my previous work in antivandalism. I am fully aware my edit count is between borderline to too low, but it's worth a shot, as you're highly clogged up. I have good knowledge of general antivandalism, and am an extremely fast learner, so the specific SOP for new pages is something I'd learn quite quickly. Thank you for even considering my request! Legendbird (talk) 19:28, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: I have quite a bit of time working with the CVU, as well as working a lot with copyvio works. I'd like to help out more in other places, and improve my wiki knowledgebase. NuggFrog (talk) 13:56, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Rollback

User:Phlogiston Enthusiast

Hello! I am Phlogiston Enthusiast. I would like a moment of your time to request rollback rights. I believe that I could use rollback permissions to assist in anti-vandalism in the recent changes tab. There are multiple reasons for this. For one, it would streamline reverts on articles that need them, and be a useful tool against vandalism. This is because if a user is making edits of a vandalistic nature, they are likely to have made multiple. Rollback would assist with these issues and prevent long and drawn-out revert wars by vandals. Second, I believe that I meet the qualifications for the role. I possess experience patrolling the recent changes section, and have reverted many vandalous edits. If need be, I can attempt to provide a comprehensive list of the articles on which I have combatted vandalism. Finally, I understand that it looks bad to have had two arguments over vandalism-related subjects in the past. However, I would argue that this is almost the opposite, as having a clean record with no mistakes would mean that I had no mistakes to learn from, and as well I have apologized to all parties involved in both. In summary, I believe that I should possess rollback rights as to better combat vandalism, and if need be there can be elaboration. If not, I completely understand.

Ammending: this was written roughly a month ago. I was told that I would need one month's experience more before I should re-apply. I have since aqquired more than this. I have been the cause for scores of blocks and have better since de-vandalized the Wiki. Following my embarrasing mishap recently reguarding confusion over the tool, I have better researched it and now believe I would be more fit to utilize this. After doing both again today I'm up to 1093. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 16:25, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) That isn't really relevant to rollback though; admins will check your edits when they review this, and reverts and counter-vandalism is what matters for rollback. HurricaneZetaC 16:40, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. Just trying to say I understand to an extent what does and does not break syntax. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 16:51, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Also worth ammending is that it would provide access to interceptor, which is a useful tool I believe I could do a great deal of antivandalism with in a way that is more efficient than the typical recent changes page. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 18:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Also of note: I am now a Pending Changes Reviewer. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 14:49, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) Phlogiston Enthusiast, an admin will review the needed information. I don't see how a lot of these notes are relevant to rollback; pending changes requires some overlapping skills with rollback (such as the ability to effectively determine what is vandalism), but it is an entirely different right for good reason, and does require different skills. Rollback's primary purpose is to assist with recent changes patrolling. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 21:53, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. Just trying to put everything on the table here. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 02:25, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Adding comment so it is clear this is still open and so it doesn't get archived from inactivity. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 16:01, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Not to sound picky, just wanted to make sure two weeks of inactivity and lack of approval/denial wouldn't make this stagnate and die. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 19:21, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Adding another comment, since it has now been 22 without this being responded too and I don't want this to get archived. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 18:03, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

I would like to renew my rollback rights, because I have been using AntiVandal constructively, and the same other reasons as my most recent request. Theeverywhereperson talk here 11:14, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Namely:
  1. I am a recent changes patroller and have been patrolling for a few months now,
  2. I have made more than 700 edits in mainspace and more than 1700 edits in total,
  3. Since I am already a pending changes reviewer, I am also used to reverting vandalism in some areas where it isn't visible to everyone yet, so I think I am trained for the job,
  4. This would allow me to use tools like AntiVandal to revert vandalism easier and faster, for the benefit of Wikipedia as a whole.

I've been using Twinkle and RedWarn, but I would like to use some of the tools that require the Rollback permission, such as Huggle and Interceptor. Before taking a wikibreak, I was a CVUA student and just had my final exam to complete. You can find my CVUA progress here. It looks like my instructor is no longer active, and the other instructors listed on the CVUA page appear to be on wikibreaks at the moment. Referentis (talk) 20:24, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Fcom1212

Hi. I want to request rollback rights because I'm relying on checking articles to make sure that there's no vandalism. I use both RedWarn and Twinkle, and I already used Twinkle for most of the pages I reverted and notified several users. It would be useful for reverting large vandalism using this tool, in addition to reverting pages using Twinkle. ~ŤheŴubṂachine-840 10:06, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Legendbird

Hello! I am already doing antivandal/recent change patrol work, and am alredy familiar with Twinkle, but wish for rollbacker permissions to be able to use more powerful tools, such as AntiVandal. Thank you for your consideration in advance! Legendbird (talk) 19:35, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

User:OzmoOzmo

Recently I have been facing disruptive editors who have been making edits extremely quickly. For example, HermeneuticMind, who was adding LLM-generated content to articles en masse, and Goldfishgonnabedeadsoon.

With rollback, I will be able to revert these unconstructive editors much faster than pressing the [vandalism] button with Twinkle for every one of their edits, which is inconvenient, inefficient and slow. -- ozmoozmo@enwiki (talk:contributions) 11:38, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

Template editor

User:CharlesEditor23

I am once again requesting the template editor right. I have met the guidelines for granting, especially number 4, which is that I have had no behavioral blocks or WP:3RR violations for a minimum of six (6) months or more. The main reason why I am requesting the template editor right again is so that I may be able to make productive, meaningful contributions to protected templates such as Module:Gridiron color/data & Module:College color/data that are in line with established WP:CONSENSUS with many other editors. I believe that if granted the template editor right again, I can demonstrate that I will avoid the first criteria for revocation, which is performing obviously controversial edits without first determining WP:CONSENSUS. I will also demonstrate that I will only use wise & prudent template editing and test my changes in the sandboxes first. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 05:47, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

See and for previous requests  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:21, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
I'm a bit torn. On the one hand, they have had all but one module edit request accepted (and the other partly done) since their last request in September. On the other hand, I am concerned about these edits; they were rightly made in the sandbox, but only because the /data module is template-protected. This is the same sort of thing that was happening as far back as 2021 and led to their rights being revoked. I also found this which is not the right way to make a dummy edit.
Now, have I done similar things in the past? Sure, I'm pretty sure there are a few from this year even. We shouldn't be expecting perfection out of a TPE, because that is just unrealistic. However, mistakes should be few and far between for a TPE or admin, and not happening often enough to get repeated warnings going back five years. Primefac (talk) 00:08, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

User:Santiago Claudio

I've been editing modules and templates, and their sandboxes in my 10+ years here on WP. I'm confident that I've already met all six guidelines for editor rights, especially after having successful edit requests to the following, like the college template, the U.S. House of Representatives abbreviation, the comedian infobox, and sports results and table modules, all protected. I promise to be careful with my additive or subtractive edits by previewing them beforehand if I attain this permission. Santiago Claudio (talk) 10:56, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

I'm a recent changes patroller (and as of recently, a rollbacker). Recently, at Anabel Ternès, multiple temporary accounts were repeatedly making the same WP:BLP violation. Most likely, it was the same person, but I don't want to assume that without a little more evidence. I suspect I'll occasionally come across similar situations while dealing with vandalism and other policy violations. Cadddr (talk) 23:58, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

When en-Wikipedia switched to temporary accounts, I chose not to request this permission because I wanted to see if I could continue to effectively deal with vandalism, spam, and unconstructive edits without the IP information. I've given it some time and I've noticed that I'm doing less follow-up, perhaps because the TAs are changing. I'd like to request this permission now so I can see whether the additional information that it provides helps me identify additional problematic edits. I have read and will comply with the guidelines.

I deal with block evaders and abusive editors on an often enough basis that I believe I would find this permission useful in some scenarios. For example, I suspect there is block evasion from a TA on the article Frankie & Johnny (1991 film). Another example of where I might use the access is on my user talk page, where a certain LTA keeps occassionally attacking it and several others' talk pages, and the info would be useful in renewing IP rangeblocks that had lapsed. Prior to making this request, I have read through the WMF's TAIV policy and understood what I can, and can't do with the information. — AP 499D25 (talk) 09:08, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
