I was born in and grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, which was the featured article on February 29, 2008. I live elsewhere in Ontario now. I'm a doctoral student and have had a number of articles published on art, sound and media art. My main interests wiki-wise are media art (sound, video, electronic), Canadian art, contemporary art, art history from late-19th century to the 1970s (i.e. Modernism) and experimental film. I've been using the username Freshacconci for years and in other forums and for no other reason than my admiration for Vito Acconci, plus I like the sound of it. I've been editing on wiki since October 2006 as Freshacconci (I apparently registered on July 22, 2006 but didn't edit while logged in until October for some reason). Before that I occasionally edited as an anonymous visitor: it seems my first actual edit was on January 1, 2006.
Did you know?
| On 7 August 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Flight Stop, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that each of the sixty geese in Michael Snow's Flight Stop (pictured) is wearing a costume made from photographs of a dead Canada goose culled from Toronto Island? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Flight Stop. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Flight Stop), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
| On 22 September 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Picture for Women, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Picture for Women by Canadian artist Jeff Wall is a photographic response to Édouard Manet's last major painting, A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Picture for Women. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
