The wide world of Wikipedia

I have been creating and editing articles on Wikipedia since January 2006 and I'm not ashamed to say I have learned a lot since then.

A couple of main points about my approach to contributing to and editing Wikipedia: In general terms, more information makes a better online encyclopedia. Philosophically speaking, I am an Inclusionist, particularly in the field of articles on albums and songs. I have a strong belief that if an artist is considered notable, their entire album catalogue should also tend to be accepted as notable. I'd love to see Wikipedia's coverage of music improved to the point where it is the first point of reference when seeking information about artists and albums. Ideally then, every artist who makes the grade to have an article on Wikipedia would have their entire album catalogue here as well, complete with track listings, album covers and links to reviews, where available. I find it depressing that because of the existing policy on notability, hard-headed Wiki editors can force the deletion of articles on albums within an artist's catalogue that, while not big-sellers, are an important link in the chain of their career.

The second main point is that good writing, with attention to punctuation and spelling, is a beautiful thing. Accuracy and verifiability are the foundations on which this entire project is built.
