Short bio of me
My real name is Kevin Bailey, and I have an eclectic career background, working mainly in education (at various levels, now in higher education), but also running my own business for several years, and (early on) working for a time in the medical field. This background has made me a bit of "a jack of all trades, but a master of none." The only area where I've achieved a bit of mastery is in a few narrow sections of literature, as well as on education-related topics.
My username derives from a character in one of my favorite novelas, The Picture of Dorian Gray. I love Oscar Wilde, both the man and his work--particularly De Profundis. If I make any mistakes, please drop me a line and I will fix them. I have edited Wikipedia since October of 2006, and have detailed my editing history here, with specific articles I've created over the years listed here.
My work
Current
- User:Hallward's Ghost/WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America work; my plan is to research these redlinks and redirects for the WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America to help turn them into stub- and start-level articles. I will keep track of this work in my userspace.
- John Kahionhes Fadden; article I wrote for the above WikiProject--still needs expansion.
- Dag Aabye; article I wrote, that I plan to expand over time.
- Katie Beth Hall; article I wrote about the young actor, which I plan to expand as her career progresses.
- User:Hallward's Ghost/Rough and Ready Guards; article I'm writing in this userspace for WikiProject North Carolina.
- User:Hallward's Ghost/Mon Rovia; Afro-Appalachian band/musician that I plan to write an article on.
- User:Hallward's Ghost/Jack Butcher (basketball)
Planned
- User:Hallward's Ghost/John Henry Lloyd-Planning to work John Henry Lloyd up to GA or FA, if possible. It is a "Top Importance" article for the Negro league baseball task force.
- User:Hallward's Ghost/History of Kansas; At some point, I plan to rewrite History of Kansas in userspace, using History of Minnesota as a template to work this article toward Featured status.
- User:Hallward's Ghost/Robert Smalls; a complete rewrite of the Robert Smalls article that I'm working on in userspace.
- User:Hallward's Ghost/Los Tigres del Norte Translate the Spanish version of Los Tigres del Norte to expand the English version.

Featured and Good Article work
Note: I was not the primary contributor on these articles, but neither was my work on them insubstantial. As I've been working on this project for almost 8 years (I actually started out as a constructive IP editor in the latter part of 2006), it seems like I remember doing some other work on articles that achieved FA or GA, but I can't remember what (if any) articles these might have been.
FA (2)
- To Kill a Mockingbird - October-November 2007 - Assisted User:Moni3 in working this article up to FA.
- John McGraw - 13 July-13 August 2008 - Famous figure in baseball; I did a lot of work on it during this time frame, in an attempt to prep it for a run at GA or FA, and other editors came in and finished the work.
GA
- James Blunt - January-February 2008 - Assisted User:Risker in working this article up to GA during my time using the Bellwether BC username.

| To let you know that you impressed me with your involvement in Brianhe's RfA, and it is not only because I concurred with your position, but more so because I saw your arguments convincing and coherent. On many occasions, I just wanted to write "ditto, me too!" below your comments. You had stolen my thoughts and repackaged them neatly in words and sentences better than I could have. It was not merely that, however. There were a good number of supporters who were similarly eloquent. The difference was that you accompanied clarity with sincere passion. You opposed until the end what you thought (me too) was an unfair treatment of a dedicated and resourceful editor, and fought against an unstable system. I have seen many slighted contributors become disillusioned because most users have taken their work for granted. But you are not one of those. I may have disagreed with you in the previous RfA, but what you showed in Brianhe's RfA has made me think very highly of you. Caballero/Historiador ⎌ 06:13, 6 February 2016 (UTC) |

| While I may disagree with some of your viewpoints, you courageously and eloquently advocate for controversial viewpoints–exactly what is needed to at least bring more-than-trivial change to Wikipedia, which hasn't happened in the last 15 years. Esquivalience t 05:41, 7 February 2016 (UTC) |
