- I don't see this as misleading. Ending a username in "robot" isn't the same as ending in just "bot". Maybe ask the user for an explanation and consider changing the username? The user has been constructive so far. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 05:48, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.
To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.
DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...
- ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
- If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
- If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
- ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.
You may request a protection reduction below if...
- ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
- ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
- ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
- ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.
If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here
Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.
- You may add the appropriate template (
{{Edit protected}},{{Edit template-protected}},{{Edit extended-protected}}, or{{Edit semi-protected}}) to the article's talk page if you would like to request an edit be made. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - For edit requests being made due to the editor having a conflict of interest with the article subject (see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}template should be used instead of the others listed above. - Requests to move pages that are currently move-protected should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not on this page.
- This page is not for holding discussions regarding content. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit that you wish to be performed.
Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.
2026 Iran war
In the infobox, change:
to
The explanatory note only includes the sinking of IRIS Dena, which was near the totality of naval losses a week ago but the claimed losses have now substantially expanded. This would also bring the treatment of naval losses much more in line with aviation losses.
An alternate (in my opinion uglier) option would be:
- 104 sailors killed, 32 injured off the coast of Sri Lanka.[2]
References
- "Iranian army says at least 104 killed in US attack on Iranian warship last week". Reuters. 8 March 2026.
Greenland crisis
(I posted this a few days ago in the Talk page also)
The sentence "This escalated in early 2026 after Trump refused to rule out the use of military force to annex Greenland and threatened a 25% import tax on European Union (EU) goods unless Denmark ceded Greenland." in the first para of the lead, should be changed to something like " ... threatened 10% import tax, increasing to 25% over several weeks on goods from several European nations unless they supported the cessation of Greenland to the US. " OR " ... threatened a 25% import tax on goods from several European nations unless they supported the cessation of Greenland to the US. "
The difference is the following:
It was not just EU countries, it was a specific set of eight countries to my understanding, including Norway and the UK which are not a part of the EU. The fact that it would start at 10 and raise to 25% is perhaps important also, although much less so than the first point. It was not "unless greenland was ceded to the US" it was "unless those countries supported his bid to acquire greenland". This is also a big difference and therefore quite important.

Not done. Talk:Greenland crisis is not protected, you have already started a discussion there, so there is no need to start it in two places. "Also Israel announced that they will launch a ground invasion of Lebanon, expecting to do a complete occupation of Southern Lebanon and disarticulate key bases of Hezbollah.[399][400] Due to fears of prolonged occupation of Lebanese territory, Western Great powers (Canada, UK, Germany, Italy and France) stated warnings to Israel against such militar moves"

AutopatrolledUser:Umais Bin Sajjad
I have created over 150 mainspace articles (primarily in the area of Film and TV). While some of my earlier creations were deleted, the majority of my recent articles remain live, and I have refined my sourcing and notability assessment standards over time. I am familiar with WP:N, WP:BLP, WP:V and WP:RS and I ensure that all new articles meet notability and sourcing standards prior to creation. As I continue to create new articles...I believe autopatrolled would help reduce workload for NPP, as my pages generally require minimal follow-up. User has created over 900 live articles, mainly all relating to Asian people and places. None of the articles I've randomly spot checked have any major issues that would prevent them from passing muster in NPP. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 01:15, 13 March 2026 (UTC) User:AjayDas

I'd like access to AWB to take care of typos and MOS errors I'm constantly coming across in one fell swoop, usually MOS:'S, MOS:LQ, MOS:LANG, MOS:SINGLE, and the various case uses of MOS:DASH. Any automation that can be added to these kind of clockwork edits would be helpful. I still plan on doing mostly manual edits bc I'm more engaged with expansion than cleanup. But I think I go through enough ebbing and flowing in the clockwork edits department to justify AWB'ing. ThaesOfereode (talk) 22:15, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

I made an article the other day and saw it hadn't yet been reviewed. When I looked into the review process to find out why, I realised that there was a big backlog and I could probably help out. So here I am. I've been a user for a long time and have contributed to AfD (though somewhat sporadically) and written quite a few new articles of decent quality. I contribute a lot at the reliable source noticeboard and have a very strong grasp of sourcing and WP:GNG. My one weakness that I am aware of is that I've never created a draft, so I would probably need help with that. There will likely be some other technical questions I'm not yet aware of, but I pick stuff up quickly. Boynamedsue (talk) 06:29, 13 March 2026 (UTC) User:Phlogiston Enthusiast
Hello. I'm Phlogiston Enthusiast. I have ~1350 edits total, and many more than 500 main space edits. I have created many pages, and am familiar with the policy on page creation, as well as translated a page into English, so I would be familiar with this too. I'm looking for something new to try, and I'd like to try this. I have at least 90 Days of experience as well. I have experience patrolling recent changes and pending changes. I usually edit using TOR browser, in case that effects anything. The last request I made too early because I was incorrect about the amount of time my account had existed. RollbackUser:Phlogiston Enthusiast
Hello! I am Phlogiston Enthusiast. I would like a moment of your time to request rollback rights. I believe that I could use rollback permissions to assist in anti-vandalism in the recent changes tab. There are multiple reasons for this. For one, it would streamline reverts on articles that need them, and be a useful tool against vandalism. This is because if a user is making edits of a vandalistic nature, they are likely to have made multiple. Rollback would assist with these issues and prevent long and drawn-out revert wars by vandals. Second, I believe that I meet the qualifications for the role. I possess experience patrolling the recent changes section, and have reverted many vandalous edits. If need be, I can attempt to provide a comprehensive list of the articles on which I have combatted vandalism. Finally, I understand that it looks bad to have had two arguments over vandalism-related subjects in the past. However, I would argue that this is almost the opposite, as having a clean record with no mistakes would mean that I had no mistakes to learn from, and as well I have apologized to all parties involved in both. In summary, I believe that I should possess rollback rights as to better combat vandalism, and if need be there can be elaboration. If not, I completely understand. Ammending: this was written roughly a month ago. I was told that I would need one month's experience more before I should re-apply. I have since aqquired more than this. I have been the cause for scores of blocks and have better since de-vandalized the Wiki. Following my embarrasing mishap recently reguarding confusion over the tool, I have better researched it and now believe I would be more fit to utilize this. Template editorUser:CharlesEditor23
I am once again requesting the template editor right. I have met the guidelines for granting, especially number 4, which is that I have had no behavioral blocks or WP:3RR violations for a minimum of six (6) months or more. The main reason why I am requesting the template editor right again is so that I may be able to make productive, meaningful contributions to protected templates such as Module:Gridiron color/data & Module:College color/data that are in line with established WP:CONSENSUS with many other editors. I believe that if granted the template editor right again, I can demonstrate that I will avoid the first criteria for revocation, which is performing obviously controversial edits without first determining WP:CONSENSUS. I will also demonstrate that I will only use wise & prudent template editing and test my changes in the sandboxes first. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 05:47, 17 March 2026 (UTC) |

I'm a recent changes patroller (and as of recently, a rollbacker). Recently, at Anabel Ternès, multiple temporary accounts were repeatedly making the same WP:BLP violation. Most likely, it was the same person, but I don't want to assume that without a little more evidence. I suspect I'll occasionally come across similar situations while dealing with vandalism and other policy violations. Cadddr (talk) 23:58, 15 March 2026 (UTC) User:MolecularPilot
Hi! I'm heavily involved in vandalism / recent changes patrol, AfC, and am an NPP patroller, which would all benefit from having this permission (and there's been a few cases recently where it would have been useful to me). I meet the 6 months / 300 edits requirement, and agree to follow all guidelines. MolecularPilotTalk 10:34, 16 March 2026 (UTC) User:Schazjmd
When en-Wikipedia switched to temporary accounts, I chose not to request this permission because I wanted to see if I could continue to effectively deal with vandalism, spam, and unconstructive edits without the IP information. I've given it some time and I've noticed that I'm doing less follow-up, perhaps because the TAs are changing. I'd like to request this permission now so I can see whether the additional information that it provides helps me identify additional problematic edits. I have read and will comply with the guidelines. |
