Verifiability is a minimum threshhold, not a mandate. Thatcher131 -

"Not everything that can be verifiable needs to (or should) go in Wikipedia. The thinking should not be: "If it's verifiable, let's put it in"; it should be (1) "do we want/need this information here?" and (2) "can we supply a source for the information so the reader can verify what we have written?". (1) comes before (2) every time." Carcharoth regarding WP:BLP -

While Wikipedia is at 2 million articles and counting, this is no cause for celebration. Many of these articles are having some cleanup, citation or other issue that detracts from the quality of our site. As of this message, we have not even reached 1,600 featured articles and not even 3,000 decent articles. So, out of the sheer madness that we call Wikipedia, less than 5,000 pages have been identified with some sort of decent quality control. This is disturbing to me and it should be disturbing to you. I am not sure what will make the community wake up; a nice cup of coffee, a message like this or a swift kick in the testicles; but something has to be done. Whatever path you choose to take is completely on your own, regardless, we must do the following: Forget quantity and let's get quality. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 08:50, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
