Why I signed up for Wikipedia…

I’ve always been drawn to 19th  and early 20th century history, especially in the places where my extended family has lived. What began as a simple curiosity about my own family tree gradually grew into a deeper interest in local history and the stories behind the people who came before us.

Over the years, I’ve come across Wikipedia pages that were incomplete, outdated, or missing entirely--particularly for notable historical figures or well documented local subjects. I often wish I had kept a list of all the gaps I noticed!

I joined Wikipedia to help improve the encyclopedia by contributing reliable information, maintaining existing articles, and creating new pages where strong sources exist. I’ve gathered a large amount of research over the years, and I’d like to make it accessible to others.

I believe deeply in the value of studying history, both to understand past mistakes and to find inspiration in lives well lived.

…and this gives me something fun to do when I’m bored.
