User talk:Nathannah

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The last six months of this talk page and its discussions were archived to Archive 36 on July 3, 2025.
As of September 8, 2025, I am on a self-imposed ban on current true crime AfD discussions, at least for the next six months. Please feel free to trout me if I forget.

  • I will try to fix any image problems as soon as possible if a bot/editor leaves me a notice about an image and then revert the bot/editor's edit to acknowledge it as resolved. I like to keep things neat and focused on discussions, not line after line of image problems to take care of.
  • I've been here 20–21 years. I know most policies. If you use a template to warn me (and especially if you're only here to pick fights or vandalize), it's usually going to get removed unless I was clearly in the wrong. Elaborate on your reversion reason beyond the template. I try to do the same on my talk page comments, so the same common courtesy should be extended here.
    • For transparency, that is all that I remove from my talk page completely outside of vandalism. Everything is archived as appropriate every six months, usually on or around January 1 and July 1; before you claim I deleted your message (unless you're a vandal), check the latest archive.
  • I do carry rollback privileges, so if you need any help and I'm on, you can ask me here. However, note I will not get into edit wars and only use rollback for basic vandalism repair.
  • I do carry file moving privileges, so if you accidentally upload a logo or picture as "EJNEDC_128929_21.jpg", feel free to ask me to name it to something a bit more logical.
  • I also work on the conversation style of 'response on your talk page, then your response on my talk page, then I'll respond there', etc. Just because pings are 50/50 among the community and that threading is a lot easier to follow.
  • Please, if you can, try to list template notices under one heading for my convenience, rather than template after template if there are multiple notices. It makes acknowledgement much easier.
  • No profanity please. You can make a point just as easily without laying down an F-bomb here (or as some have done, homophobic slurs). I reserve the right to refactor your comment to remove profanity (but I will at least leave a link to it in the history for full disclosure); I don't like going to my talk page and having to skim through swear words over and over again.
  • If you're here to leave some kind of attack on my page because of a vandalism rollback, reversion or some other kind of finding, I'm not exactly quaking that you're going to 'hack' my page or that I'm whatever choice obscenity you'd like to call me; it's getting reverted by me or another patrolling editor anyways. Before you leave a message, ask yourself; is it worth the effort to add a strike on the way to a block?
  • Yes, I share my social media links here. But if I say to stop posting on my talk page because my patience has been exhausted with a topic and explaining our policies...that doesn't mean 'move it onto my social media'. I have no interest in reading your tract about how I'm completely wrong on my Twitter feed. Wikipedia communication is for communicating about topics here. When I say I'm done...I'm done. I will mute you or further on my social media if you just keep going. Further belaboring the point will just end up with me taking it to a higher authority here to deal with it.
  • Same with email. Only if it's something private or you have a feeling that yes, 'this is an email', should you do it. I prefer open transparency here unless there's no choice in the matter.
  • And please post in chronological order, on the bottom or by using the 'add heading' link. It's not that hard, it's common talk page etiquette and custom, and keeps things clean.

Close at WP:Articles for deletion/Maakgalake Pholwane

I made a slight formatting change to your close at this AfD. It's a speedy keep (see WP:CSK) and by using the term speedy keep in the close, the AfD stats tool will be able to process it. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 11:36, 21 August 2025 (UTC)

Articles_for_deletion/Plant-based_cat_food

I'd like to ask you give your redirect recommendation of plant-based cat food another look.

In general, as to my comment on the discussion page:

  • This topic deserves it's own page as an article spin-off WP:SPINOFF. Adding all the relevant information that is worthy of Wikipedia to the existing cat food page would make it too large and probably put WP:UNDUE weight on the cat food article.
This is a new page accepted only 2 months ago for which I have not yet gotten to the point of fully splitting the content out of the original cat food page. I request more time to complete this and to leave the page in place right now

Specifically on your comment: The article start actually points out that plant-based cat food is characterized by the lack of animal products, and calls out synthetic and mineral sources as ingredients too.

Reliable sources have been used, and the tone reflects the research available on the topic, rather than the view of any ideology. At least that is what I aimed to do and fine tune with the help of the AfC process. I feel that the reporter's representation of the article is incorrect and very biased, all I ask is that you judge this young article on its merit. Sklabb (talk) 10:01, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

Survey

Hi and thanks for your recent participation in AfD. I would like to hear your thoughts about the process. Please check this survey if you are willing to respond. Czarking0 (talk) 20:28, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi and thanks for your recent participation in AfD! As you may have seen in my previous message, I am conducting a survey. Several editors have responded already and I do not want their hard work to go to waste. If you could take a few moments to make your voice hear please check this survey.
Don't worry I won't send you another reminder.Czarking0 (talk) 02:49, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

Statement on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Killing of Iryna Zarutska

The nom was closed early an hour ago as a keep, and I have no issue with it at all as the mainstream newscast and further RS mentions/analysis solidified notability and my vote was made well before there was more attention on it, some of it which brought unexpected attention to the AfD process. I also emphasize that my vote was never political and was made well before it was raised as having a political connection (see the unrelated other crime AfDs I voted on at the same time as part of a wave that happened to take place that day before that nomination was made). Removed my userpage for now as it was attracting unwanted attention (it needs cleanup anyways and is well-outmoded in design) and because of off-site transphobia; just taking a temporary break, and I apologize if my views were too strong within the nomination. I'm self-banning myself from current true crime AfDs for the time being as they are getting overheated and political, and are headed into sanction area territory I never expected. Nathannah📮 00:15, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

Saw someone being transphobic and directly linking your User Profile on Twitter (While incorrectly stating that you created the AfD). Came to check the account out and tell you to be well and ignore the noise. Although I do not agree with your AfD post directly, attacking someone for who they are is freakish behavior. All of the people off platform are cowardice IRL and want some internet points doing whatever they can. Blod722 (talk) 02:20, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Deletion

Sir, I read your answer well during the AfD Discussion for Cast AI. Can I ask your opinion as an experienced editor - for my mental sanity. Would you personally nominate this company page Adagio Teas for deletion (created 2 days ago) considering that 9 out of 10 of their sources are either a company website or start with the likes of TRENTON, New Jersey (disguised press release)? ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
