Sivan Rotem is an Israeli/Argentinean opera singer, recitalist, painter and Voice teacher.[1][2]

Biography
Singing career
Rotem started her musical career as a violinist under the guidance of Professor Valley Blutner. She also served as the first violinist in "The Kibbutz Youth Symphony Orchestra."[6]
Rotem has obtained academic degrees in English and Literature from Haifa University, as well as a degree in voice from The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, where she studied under the guidance of Mira Zakai.[7] Subsequently, she pursued her vocal education in the United States, undertaking studies with Ellen Faull, the head of The Juilliard School of Music Voice Department in New York. [8]
Rotem made her professional debut with Zubin Mehta and The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte ("The Magic Flute"). She went on to perform with the Israel Philharmonic in Felix Mendelssohn "A Midsummer Night's Dream", Georges Bizet "Carmen", and Mozart "The Impresario".[9] Rotem has also sung leading roles with the Israeli Opera including Musetta in "La Boheme", Norina in "Don Pasquale", Amore in "Orfeo ed Euridice", Sophie in "Werther", Despina in "Cosi Fan Tutte" among others.[10][10][3]
She appeared as a soloist with all the leading orchestras of Israel including the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra,[11] The "Israel Camerata", The "Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva", the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Israel Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra,[12] and "The Sinfonette Raanana".[13]
Her American opera debut took place as Violetta in "La Traviata" with Seattle Opera under the baton of Gerard Schwarz accompanied by the Seattle Symphony. This was followed by her portrayal of Susanna in Le Nozze Di Figaro.[13] Her orchestral performances around the world include appearances with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Irvine, USA, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, CA, USA, the San Jose Symphony, CA, USA, the Bochum Symphony, Germany, the Utah Symphony, UT, USA,[14] the Uzbek National Symphony Orchestra, the "Orquesta Sinfo̒nica Nacional del Ecuador,[15] the "Orquesta Filarmo̒nica de Montevideo", Uruguay,[16] "the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine", "KZN Philharmonic Orchestra", Durban, South Africa, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Canada, "I Virtuosi di Praga", The Zcheck Republic, "Sinfonietta Cracovia", Poland, with "the Georgian National Opera Theater Orchestra", Tbilisi, Georgia and the "National Macedonia Opera Orchestra" among others.
Her solo recitals include various venues worldwide. These include "Les Invalides"[17] and "Palace of Versailles" in Paris, "Forbidden City Hall" in Beijing, Prague's "Rudolfinum", as well as cities like San Francisco, Denver, Vienna, Graz, Madrid, Sevilla, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, San Salvador, Lima, Quito, Guatemala City, Tirana, Skopje, Wellington, Sydney, Lisbon,[18] Braga,[19] Santo Domingo, Helsinki, London, Krakow, Bratislava, Berlin, Budapest, Houston, El Paso (Texas),[20] Juarez (Mexico) and Las Cruces (New Mexico).[21][22]
She has made notable appearances at various festivals around the world,[23] such as "The Savonlinna Opera Festival" in Finland, Madrid's "Festival Suma Flamenca", Murcia's "Three Cultures Festival", London's "Henley Festival", "San Miguel de Allende Music festival", Mexico and "The Israel Festival" in Jerusalem. Her discography includes several notable releases. These include "Viva El Amor", a Spanish CD released by "Romeo Records", "Symphony no. 2- "L'Oiseau de La Guerre" composed by Aharon Harlap released by "Helicon" as well as two albums dedicated to Giacomo Meyerbeer songs, performed alongside pianist Jonathan Zak released by "NAXOS". Painting career
Rotem is a renowned Painter[27] and a member of the "Israel Painters and Sculptors Association".[28] She studied painting with Realistic Painters Aram Gershuni, David Nipo, Adam Cohen, Ilya Gefter and sculptur Eran Webber.[7] She exhibited her solo exhibitions in many prestigious Art Galleries and Museums in Israel,[29] including "Amalia Arbel Art Gallery", the Jerusalem Theatre, the Jerusalem Music Center, the Jerusalem Cinematheque,[30] the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center- the Israeli Opera, "Beit Gabriel" on the Lake of Galilee,[31] and in London "Brick lane Gallery", Madrid "Centro Sefarad- Israel", Lisbon "Centro Cultural de Cascais", "D. Diogo de Sousa- Museum of Archeology", Braga,[32] Portugal and the "Bucharest Jewish Museum". [33]
Rotem concentrates on Landscape paintings and drawings as well as Portraits and still life, in oil and pastel.[34]

Voice Teaching career
Rotem is a voice teacher and shares her vocal knowledge and musical and artistic education with her voice students, both in her private Studio in Hoffit and in Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael, where she teaches private lessons.
She is a judge at "The America- Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarships" for Young Singers and gives Voice Master Classes around the world. Recent Master Classes include Kunming University, China, Opera San Salvador, El Salvador, Krakow Music School, Poland, Santiago University, Chile, Wellington University, New Zealand.

Awards and recognition
Rotem won awards in international Voice competitions in Barcelona and New York, as well as first place in the Kol Yisrael Young Artist competition.[6] She also won scholarships from America-Israel Cultural Foundation. [35]
