Hi, I'm Paul! I joined Wikipedia in 2013 after contributing to and administering an organization's internal MediaWiki site.[a]

I enjoy starting new articles across a variety of topics, uploading images[b] and audio files (here and on English Wiktionary), doing WikiGnome tasks (often reference-related[c] fixes), and helping new editors. I really like submitting new/improved articles to Did you know.... Let me know if you are interested in collaborating!
My editing preference is to use the source editor (Wiki Markup). I know it well & sometimes use software like Sublime Text, vim, and Notepad++ for more tedious tasks like finding & replacing text throughout a page's source.[d] I occasionally use Python and other command-line tools for my edits.[e] I do not use AI for editing, though I don't have major concerns with with using it to help develop useful scripts.[f]
N.b.: I try and save a copy of references that I add or edit when they are not/cannot be archived in the Wayback Machine, archive.is, Megalodon.jp (a.k.a. gyo.tc), and/or ghostarchive.org.[g] If you are in search of such a reference that I've cited/updated/etc. and cannot find it in one of these fantastic archival resources, let me know. I am an amateur archivist and recommend you check out Archive Team if you are interested to learn more.

In addition to Wikimedia projects, I have also contributed to Common Voice, and occasionally other projects such as the Esolangs wiki, Explain XKCD, Fandom, and Google Crowdsource. While I typically use this username, I have seen cases of other people using this name on other websites.[h]
