History
Cyabra was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2018 by graduates of the IDF’s cybersecurity unit.[7] Its primary offices of operation are in the United States.
Cyabra’s platform is powered by machine learning algorithms and open-source intelligence data from social and traditional media[8] to identify fake profiles, false or damaging narratives, hostile actors, disinformation, and AI-generated texts and images on social media.[9][10][11] It is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations of the EU.[12]
The firm works with companies, governments, and individuals to recognize online bot activity and flag malicious online personalities. They evaluate potential harm not only through marking positive or negative words in an online post, but also by assessing the intent behind the language.[13]
Cyabra has worked with 19 governments to help protect their elections[14] and combat false narratives. Government clients have included the Philippines,[15] U.S. Department of State,[16] and others. During the 2025 elections in Romania, Cyabra technologies were applied to identify bots influencing public opinion on social media.[17]
In 2020, Warner Media hired Cyabra to identify fake social media profiles discussing the Wonder Woman 1984 film.[14]
In 2022, Elon Musk hired Cyabra as part of his battle preceding his purchase of Twitter.[18][19]
In 2024, Cyabra issued the “Intel Stock Manipulation” report, which found that 22% of conversations on Twitter/X relating to Intel stock were issued by fake profiles.[20] Also in 2024, Cyabra identified a coordinated effort by Russian state media to criticize American FEMA response to Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene. [21]
Former U.S. Secretary of State and director of CIA Michael Pompeo is on the Board of Directors.[22]
Funding
Cyabra raised $16 million in Series A funding. Investors include Founders Fund, OurCrowd, TAU Ventures, Harpoon Ventures, and Summus Group.[23][24]
As part of Cyabra’s plan to list on NASDAQ, it announced a merger with Trailblazer Merger to form a SPAC.[25][7][26]
Partnerships
Cyabra partners with Meltwater Company to identify and counter misinformation campaigns on news sites and other web platforms.[27] Cyabra partners with NATO and the Strategic Communications Center for Excellence to detect and counter inauthentic social media engagement.[28]
