The Filipino Composers are rising on the top of the Philippines, not in the Philippines but in the world too with most recognizable persons (e.g.: Regine Velasquez, Yoyoy Villame, Gary Valenciano). The first Filipino composer is Jose Maceda one of the greatest composers on Philippine Industry. He is succeeding in liberating the Philippine musical expressions from European colonial mould of symphonies, sonatas, and concertos.
