From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello! My name is Lindsey. I started out just planning to use Wikipedia to practice my Spanish and Icelandic. Unfortunately, now I am obsessed with Wikipedia.
|
I have been working on translations from Spanish to English, English to Spanish, and Icelandic to English. I also like to fix typos and edit, and make sure languages are tagged correctly with Template:Lang.
My user name comes from a Thomas Dolby song called Silk Pyjamas.
If you'd like to know more about me, you can read my blog: http://digitalmanticore.com/
Languages
English
I am a native speaker of U.S. American English and I've spent most of my life in California. I've been working in technical communication for over ten years. I also taught English in middle school for two years.
Spanish
I've been learning Spanish on and off since high school but now I am firmly on. I hope to be fluent one day but for now I have passed the DELE exam at a C1 level.
Icelandic
I'm learning Icelandic and I know enough to cause problems. Eventually, I may know enough to solve the problems I cause.
Arabic
I got my bachelor's degree in Arabic but have unfortunately let my knowledge of the language fall into disuse. I would like to get back into it but there's only so much free time in the day.
