I started contributing to the displacement activity which is Wikipedia in December 2004, and was promoted to admin status in May 2006 with an overwhelming consensus. I strongly believe that the Five Pillars are essential to achieve the project's goal of presenting the sum of human knowledge in as reliable, accurate and neutral way as possible. Back in the day, I frequently participated in the Good Article and the Featured Article processes; however, standards have moved on, and many of the articles I got to GA status has since been relisted. Getting articles up from Sub to Start or 'B' is better than than the disproportionate time to play the GA/FA reassessment game. Plus, I need to focus my limited Wiki time on what interests me, rather than what some random wants me to do.
