Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.
To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.
DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...
- ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
- If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
- If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
- ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
- ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.
You may request a protection reduction below if...
- ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
- ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
- ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
- ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.
If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here
Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.
- You may add the appropriate template (
{{Edit protected}},{{Edit template-protected}},{{Edit extended-protected}}, or{{Edit semi-protected}}) to the article's talk page if you would like to request an edit be made. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - For edit requests being made due to the editor having a conflict of interest with the article subject (see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}template should be used instead of the others listed above. - Requests to move pages that are currently move-protected should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not on this page.
- This page is not for holding discussions regarding content. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit that you wish to be performed.
Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.
2026 Iran war
I would like to request that the part where it says 30 Kurdish security forces being killed being removed as the source doesn’t say that much was killed and any online new sources also doesn’t mention that many members of the KRG/KRSC security forces died from the conflict, if it did happen then better sources will be needed to back it up and the current source doesn’t — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-16036-17 (talk) 20:00, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
Note: This concerns the infobox. I found a source saying "Strikes on PMF bases in Iraq kill at least 30" but this refers to specific strikes this week and is not an aggregate figure. — Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:53, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
Note: I have found a source that says At least 112 killed in US-Israel attacks on Kurdistan province in Iran, with 969 injured
. Probably the article could be updated with these numbers. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 01:47, 15 March 2026 (UTC)- I am talking about the Kurdistan region of Iraq not Iranian Kurdistan which should help differentiate some confusion, and my main concern is the part below causalities and losses in 2026 Iran war being incorrect about KRI casualties as that current source doesn’t say 30 security members of KRI are dead ~2026-16036-17 (talk) 09:20, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
2026 Iran war
In the infobox, change:
to
The explanatory note only includes the sinking of IRIS Dena, which was near the totality of naval losses a week ago but the claimed losses have now substantially expanded. This would also bring the treatment of naval losses much more in line with aviation losses.
An alternate (in my opinion uglier) option would be:
- 104 sailors killed, 32 injured off the coast of Sri Lanka.[2]

2026 Iran war
Why are Palestinian civilians especially highlighted in casualty figures, even though they are not direct war casualties? And why are they the only ones for whom children are explicitly mentioned as victims?
In addition, Israel is often explicitly named as the one who has “killed” people. If one wants to be this precise, then the same standard should be applied in all other cases as well.
For example, reports should also mention the child who was killed in Kuwait by an Iranian drone, and just as clearly state that civilian casualties in the Gulf states were caused “by Iran” – in the same way it is phrased in the case of Israel. Cabri13 (talk) 04:47, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Not done. This is not an edit request, this is just a complaint. A proper edit request proposes a specific change in the form "change X to Y" along with policy based reasoning and citing reliable sources. This request fails on all counts. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 05:18, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

I have created over 150 mainspace articles (primarily in the area of Film and TV). While some of my earlier creations were deleted, the majority of my recent articles remain live, and I have refined my sourcing and notability assessment standards over time. I am familiar with WP:N, WP:BLP, WP:V and WP:RS and I ensure that all new articles meet notability and sourcing standards prior to creation. As I continue to create new articles...I believe autopatrolled would help reduce workload for NPP, as my pages generally require minimal follow-up. Requesting file mover rights to correct misnamed files related to TV and film articles. I frequently encounter files uploaded with incorrect names and would like to move them to accurate titles while preserving history. Rollback
User:Phlogiston Enthusiast
- Phlogiston Enthusiast (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · undos · manual reverts · rollbacks · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci)
Hello! I am Phlogiston Enthusiast. I would like a moment of your time to request rollback rights. I believe that I could use rollback permissions to assist in anti-vandalism in the recent changes tab. There are multiple reasons for this. For one, it would streamline reverts on articles that need them, and be a useful tool against vandalism. This is because if a user is making edits of a vandalistic nature, they are likely to have made multiple. Rollback would assist with these issues and prevent long and drawn-out revert wars by vandals. Second, I believe that I meet the qualifications for the role. I possess experience patrolling the recent changes section, and have reverted many vandalous edits. If need be, I can attempt to provide a comprehensive list of the articles on which I have combatted vandalism. Finally, I understand that it looks bad to have had two arguments over vandalism-related subjects in the past. However, I would argue that this is almost the opposite, as having a clean record with no mistakes would mean that I had no mistakes to learn from, and as well I have apologized to all parties involved in both. In summary, I believe that I should possess rollback rights as to better combat vandalism, and if need be there can be elaboration. If not, I completely understand.
Ammending: this was written roughly a month ago. I was told that I would need one month's experience more before I should re-apply. I have since aqquired more than this. I have been the cause for scores of blocks and have better since de-vandalized the Wiki. Following my embarrasing mishap recently reguarding confusion over the tool, I have better researched it and now believe I would be more fit to utilize this. - Also worth ammending is that it would provide access to interceptor, which is a useful tool I believe I could do a great deal of antivandalism with in a way that is more efficient than the typical recent changes page. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 18:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

I would like to renew my rollback rights, because I have been using AntiVandal constructively, and the same other reasons as my most recent request. Theeverywhereperson talk here 11:14, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- Namely:
- I am a recent changes patroller and have been patrolling for a few months now,
- I have made more than 700 edits in mainspace and more than 1700 edits in total,
- Since I am already a pending changes reviewer, I am also used to reverting vandalism in some areas where it isn't visible to everyone yet, so I think I am trained for the job,
- This would allow me to use tools like AntiVandal to revert vandalism easier and faster, for the benefit of Wikipedia as a whole.

I am currently dealing with a TA (and might encounter many more vandals) so I would like to have this right to easily snap their edits to valhalla. shane (talk to me if you want!) 16:56, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

I've started reverting vandalism edits, with a pattern of revert, warning the user, and reporting to AIV if they have a history of vandalism and the warn is severe. Another user notified me on my talk page that I might find rollback useful, and it looks like it would definitely speed up reverting repeat offenders that were never reverted. I've been using Twinkle and RedWarn, but I would like to use some of the tools that require the Rollback permission, such as Huggle and Interceptor. Before taking a wikibreak, I was a CVUA student and just had my final exam to complete. You can find my CVUA progress here. It looks like my instructor is no longer active, and the other instructors listed on the CVUA page appear to be on wikibreaks at the moment. Referentis (talk) 20:24, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
