My POV on how to describe sponsorship deals
Hi. If you’re reading this, you probably came here because I removed some overly detailed wording from sponsorship-related articles. Here is my rationale.
Yes, the fact that a deal exists can be notable, but not micro-details like where a sponsor’s logo appears on a T-shirt (or similar trivia). Those specifics are already covered on the source’s external pages, and anyone who cares can follow the citation. In my view, Wikipedia should summarize the general, notable facts, but not routine or non-notable minutiae of standard sponsorship arrangements, regardless of the subject or industry.
