Welcome!
Hello, 1amroff, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Shahriyar Majidzade, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- Hello @Jay8g. Thank you very much for your instructive comment.
- In fact, I represent the subject in the article and this might be considered as conflict of interest according to Wikipedia rules.
- I hereby declare that I am not getting any compensation for any contributions I made, will make on this article.
- The reason for my recent edits on this live page is that, this article is marked as "article for deletion" for "not being a notable person" and I added some additional resources and information for justifying the notability of this person (See the discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shahriyar Majidzade).
- I would be happy I you help me to move it to userspace for now and proofread it to be written from a neutral point of view. 1amroff (talk) 07:02, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
Re: Help about an article being deleted (Shahriyar Majidzade)
Hi 1amroff, thanks for your message re the above article currently subject to possible deletion. I am currently fairly inactive on Wikipedia and don't normally do much work in Articles for Creation reviews so feel that I'm unable to be of much help to you. I suggest that you check out the advice at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation plus List of Reviewers and, in particular, this page for a list of reviewers with suitable experience who may be able to help. Best wishes. Cactus.man ✍ 18:29, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
Your email
1amroff, while I can appreciate your efforts to preserve an article with which you have COI, your method of seeking assistance does not follow English Wikipedia's standards for behavior. Efforts to clandestinely influence articles are fundamentally antithetical to Wikipedia's ethos. I will not "keep the contents of (your) email confidential". Making such an ask is highly inappropriate. You are canvassing for editors who you think will be amenable to your position and maintaining the article. This is not allowed by Wikipedia policy. Why you reached to me in particular is a mystery; I have never edited the Shahriyar Majidzade article, nor professed any interest in Azerbaijani topics.
I am not the first person you have reached out to in this way. You must engage with the article on its Talk page and on the deletion discussion page in an open and honest manner instead of trying to influence votes via email to random editors.
For posterity, I am putting the contents of your email on this talk page.

Hello M4V3R1CK32, Please keep the contents of this email confidential. I am writing to you regarding the Wikipedia article for Shahriyar Majidzade, the founder of the Kitabistan Research Center, which has been nominated for deletion. You can find the article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shahriyar_Majidzade To provide some context, Shahriyar Majidzade is an Azerbaijani politician, activist, and the founder of the Kitabistan Research Center, of which I am also a member. The Wikipedia article about him was created in 2016. However, it has recently been nominated for deletion based on claims of insufficient notability. The Wikipedia article itself contains background information on Mr. Majidzade. Now, regarding the political situation in Azerbaijan: According to Freedom House, Azerbaijan has a score of 7 out of 100, classifying it as "Not Free." Consequently, significant obstacles exist for political and public activities in the country. Furthermore, due to government control over media outlets, the activities of individuals and organizations often go unreported by local media. Therefore, many of the citations in the Wikipedia article link to reports from the Azerbaijan offices of foreign media organizations. You can find more information about his activities through this link: [LINK - https://kitabistan.org/en]. Mr. Majidzade has founded several youth organizations, a research center, a publishing house, the Kitabistan Talks franchise, and the Nordic Talks project in Azerbaijan. He is a well-known figure in the public sphere due to his organized actions and public statements. Moreover, his political activities, participation in parliamentary elections, and the subsequent allegations of election fraud that prevented his election garnered attention even in German media and Global foundation:
Regarding the nomination for deletion: Upon reviewing the content and references within the article, you will find that Mr. Majidzade has been covered by secondary, reliable, and independent sources. Considering his activities and the persecution and obstacles he has faced in Azerbaijan, the nomination for deletion of this article which is created ten years ago, raises questions. Let me note that on Azerbaijani Wikipedia, articles of people with much less activity than Shahriyar Majidzada have been kept. It's also important to note that the user who nominated the article for deletion appears to have done so without conducting thorough research into his activities. I have since made edits to the article to include necessary references. I kindly request your assistance in this matter to help ensure that the article is not deleted. Thank you for your time and help. |
I respectfully decline your request for assistance. I will not be reviewing these sources, nor will I be participating in the deletion discussion. You will find that candor and honesty will serve you far better on Wikipedia than this attempt at back channel dealing. M4V3R1CK32 (talk) 16:46, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
