Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. It is a good idea to read the most recent entries at the bottom of the Talk page of an existing article before making major changes to it, to see if your proposed change has been discussed before. Before I make a major change to an article, I often make a proposal on the Talk page to see if anyone minds.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Reliant Energy (February 9)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MatthewVanitas was:
This is not at all written as an encyclopedia article about a company, this is written as an "About Us!" page for a company.

To be approved as an encyclopedia article, you would have to remove basically all citations to RE itself, and instead cite newspapers, trade industry journals, books, etc. which discuss RE and its significance.

Wikipedia does not care at all what RE has to say about itself, we care what outside experts have documented about RE.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

  • Nationally significant companies can be notable and whereas Reliant is nationally known, making this a resubmitted advertisement is unacceptable; what particularly needs focusing is removing everything only expected at the company website which includes sections 2 and 4. Because your Draft is highly advert-formatted, it qualified for speedy deletion and please see our policies WP:What Wikipedia is not and WP:Paid. Articles are judged by their own merits and, in this case, I'd be willing to accept but only with genuine major independent news in independent news publications, not trade publications, press releases, announcements, mentions, interviews or similar. Your submission at Articles for creation: Reliant Energy (March 19)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Winged Blades of Godric was:
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Reliant Energy (June 30)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by DrStrauss was:
This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage about the subject in reliable sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies and the golden rule. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia at this time.
The comment the reviewer left was:
See WP:42. Many of your sources are primary.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies, the golden rule and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and Help:Introduction to referencing/1), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia at this time.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Still fails WP:ORGDEPTH most of the sources are press releases or affiliated or routine coverage . The only in-depth source houston.culturemap has an advertising banner for reliant at the top of the page.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Reliant

I made some copy edits and left you some comments and questions that you can see when you open the edit screen. Generally, you need to cite more newspaper articles about the company. Good luck! -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:09, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Strata Systems Inc.

Greetings. Your submission is deemed promotional in a few aspects, but mainly your writing style and tone. See WP:PUFFERY and WP:NPOV. Eg, your infobox. You wrote a list of products the company produces, in their specific names. That would be as if selling the products to the readers, like a brochure. Hence, take Huawei as an example. Instead of giving the specific model of the phone, just write smartphone. This also means that your whole section, Products and Engineering Services would need to be omitted wholly. Another thing would be the words, sentences you use. Write them in a more neutral manner, WP:NPOV. This applies to your Recent News section. It is written like a headline tabloid press. As for Governmental Approvals and Testing Procedures and Professional Associations, this is not an encyclopaedic concern. This is more marketing than encyclopaedic knowledge. Anyway, you are very welcomed to post questions to the AfC Helpdesk to get some better advice from editors with more than 10 years of experience. Cheers. EROS message 02:28, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
