Regarding new MLB postseason articles
Regarding 1946, 1951, 1959, & 1962, these four seasons, which featured tie-breaker series, are not considered postseason, but an extension of the regular season. Even MLB themselves do not consider these playoffs as part of the postseason (see 1946, 1951, 1959, 1962, or even a non-playoff year such as 1968 compared to 1969).
I think content from these articles can be integrated into their respective tie-breaker series or World Series articles (such as taking the table at 1946 Major League Baseball postseason#St. Louis Cardinals vs. Brooklyn Dodgers and putting it towards the top of the 1946 National League tie-breaker series article, or placing the summaries into respective articles, but as a whole? I'm not sure these articles serve a purpose aside from reframing regular season playoffs as a part of the postseason (which pre-1969 was considered strictly the World Series). - Hi,
- I just thought about adding them as I noticed that the NFL playoffs had articles for seasons that had a tiebreaker playoff (eg: 1941, 1957), and thought about doing something similar to that.
- Hope that clarifies things a bit. SportsGamer257 (talk) 14:23, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
