Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button
located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you.
This includes the Teahouse. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:28, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry new user here. Allanbcool (talk) 09:42, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Note that in this edit to the Teahouse you removed the time tag. If you use the 4 tildes or the signature button, you get the time tag included, which is the preferred option according to WP:Signatures. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:00, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes. Adding a time stamp to a message makes other editors easier to identify when did you post the message without going through the long edit history page. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk • contribs) 14:37, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
