Thank you for your response, and I apologize for the confusion earlier. I should clarify that the subject is a secondary school, not a university.

To answer your questions:

I am planning to create a new Wikipedia article about this secondary school.

By “infographic profile,” I meant adding structured text content to the article (such as history, academics, and basic profile information), not uploading an image or graphic.

I am not currently connected to the school in any official capacity; however, I am a former student of the school.

To be eligible for a standalone article, the school must have received significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources (such as reputable newspapers, books, or academic publications), not just routine listings or mentions.

The official government website you shared can be used as a primary source for basic factual information (for example, location, establishment date, and administration). However, it cannot by itself establish notability, and it should not be used for promotional or evaluative claims.

Hi Ampimd, I've often used wikipedia as a great source of information about all sorts of things. My father Shaun Wylie was astonished to find out that it included an article about him, and subsequently someone posted an article about my brother Keith Wylie. The reason for contacting you is that I'd like to update the article on the Scottish Watershed (referencing a book which I have recently published - Walking the British Watershed), and I'd also like to start a new article on the British Watershed. I'm aware that this platform is not to be used for self-publicity, but I think that the new article would be of as much interest as the Scottish subset. Any advice gratefully received. 3. Written the article in a neutral, encyclopaedic tone (not promotional).

@~2026-23460-8 @Jennethier1974 In short: yes, the IP blocks are stopping you from editing right now.

The blocks apply to the internet connection (IP address) you’re using, not to you personally or your account. If you’re on shared Wi-Fi (school, library, office, public network), that IP may be blocked because of past misuse by someone else.

Going somewhere else or using a different network might give you a different IP, but that’s not a reliable solution.

For now, the best option is to:

Put an edit request on the article’s Talk page, explaining the exact corrections needed.

Another editor can then make the changes for you.

Hi, got a question just about my initial concept. creating a new phrase (as in 'science fiction=exist' 'science faction=new'). when i just set up the basic user page, it brought me to the subpage url. so didn't know what to do and canceled the page. the concept is that past fiction has created preset tech (faction) and i want to note those authors, tv writers, visionaries (think Gene Roddenberry) that imagined a future that we live in today. the term shouldn't be used with current fiction till it is verified as faction. this page or subpage would be updated to reflect the transition from fiction to fact. is this worthwhile doing? would there be interest? any help is great! --ScienceGuyFan (talk) 16:52, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
