You've done yeoman's work at the travelers, many of those golfers had no commons photos in the past decade, and some had none at all. Nice job! NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 10:04, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

Thanks! Had it not been for the rain in the morning I would have been able to get more, but still a pretty good haul! Berlination (talk) 12:26, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

Uploading photos

Hi User:Berlination,

I am User:Chief disambiguator, a golf editor. Thank you for recently adding photos for a lot of golfers. I was looking to upload photos for a number of golfers whose pages I have published. I had some questions on how to technically do this as well as some licensing issues. Do you have time to respond?

Thanks,

Chief disambiguator (talk) 02:13, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Hey yes happy to help - you've created a lot of pages! Are you just curious about uploading photos you've took or using others photos? Berlination (talk) 14:37, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the response and sorry about my own late response! RE: golfer photos: I was looking to upload photos from newspapers, not my own photos. I generally use newspaper search engines like Trove and Newspapers.com for my research; I would access the photos from these sources. However, I have no idea how to extract photos from these sources. In addition, I don't know anything about Wikipedia's relationship between photography and copyright law - I've heard it's murky though. If you could help clarify these matters that would be great.

Ah ok. So those aren't photos you would be able to use on Wikipedia. Those photographers/photos would have to be released for use on Wikipedia under a Creative Commons license (which is what I did for the golf photos I took). Because they aren't your photos you can't release them on Wikicommons. But if you've taken anything you can upload and use! Berlination (talk) 00:46, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the information - I had been curious about this for awhile. I've never taken a photo of any of the golfers whose pages I have created so there isn't much I can do. In addition, most of my golfers are retired or deceased so that method seems functionally impossible anyway. But once again, thanks for your response and your work re: photography on WP: Golf.

Davy Gardner moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Davy Gardner. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Onel5969 TT me 16:30, 8 August 2025 (UTC)

New images

Please don't simply replace an image in the infobox - please relocate the old one in the article. GiantSnowman 19:06, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Hey sorry was there a specific page you are referring to? I usually do a pass after getting main photos up to see if there is a place for them lower down, but often times there are already other similar photos, or the photos I changed out were pretty low quality to begin with. But was planning on doing a pass of the recent USWNT players I added last night tonight when I have time.. Berlination (talk) 19:40, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
Alyssa Thompson and Naomi Girma. GiantSnowman 20:17, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
Again, please relocate images, do not remove them - like at Ashley Sanchez... GiantSnowman 08:26, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
Sorry it's a lot harder to relocate images with some pages - there is just not the article length on the pages to incorporate another photo. While Sanchez's page does have the length, it's also full of other images (and similar images of her on the same team etc) where it doesn't really make sense to relocate. Your submission at Articles for creation: Davy Gardner (February 9)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by ArthurTheGardener was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
There are too few secondary citations to establish notability. Some of the sources are inadequate, or do not reflect what is stated in the text.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit it after they have been resolved.

Major League Soccer WikiPortrait Initiative

Hello, thank you for all you’ve done regarding adding photos to MLS players, it is sorely needed and appreciated! I have a question or two as someone who is very interested in taking photos myself of MLS players for the WikiPortraits!

Any low-end camera recommendations that would be MLS stadium approved? If I’m not mistaken as long as the camera doesn’t have a detachable lens it is able to be brought in to a majority of stadiums, yes? I will double check that to make sure. But thank you for any recs!

My second question is about where/how you take them? Do you try to focus on action shots? Solo shots? Do you have a press pass and where in any stadium do you recommend sitting for the best photos? I see your more recent photos for Ethan Horvath And Adri Mehmeti, and one seems to be after the game and one sees to be pregame/action shot.

Thank you for any feedback and support!! :^) Ewyourfaceew (talk) 20:10, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
